Ikkis Reveals Dharmendra’s Final Performance Includes His Own Poem!

😭 Dharmendra's Poetic Farewell: His Last Film Ikkis Features a Heartbreaking Verse to His Roots

'Ajj bhi ji karda hai, pind apne nu jaanwa' — The Legend's Own Poem Captivates Emotional Fans

The legacy of the late Bollywood icon Dharmendra is set to receive a poignant final tribute in his posthumous film, Ikkis. In an incredibly emotional reveal, the makers of the Sriram Raghavan-directed war drama have shared a powerful Punjabi poem, penned and recited by the 'He-Man of Bollywood' himself, leaving fans overwhelmed with grief and nostalgia.

The verse, "Ajj bhi ji karda hai, pind apne nu jaanwa" (Even today, I wish to go to my village), is a final, intimate piece of the legendary actor's soul shared with the world.

🎙️ The Poem: A Tribute to the Soil

The production house, Maddock Films, released a special audio-visual tribute featuring Dharmendra's unmistakable, warm, and earthy voice reciting the poem. The verse is set against visuals of a homecoming—the actor’s character visiting his village, meeting old friends, and reminiscing.

  • Emotional Meaning: The poem is a deep expression of yearning and nostalgia, a tribute to his roots and ancestral village in Punjab. It speaks of a simple desire to return home, bathe in the pond, and reconnect with the past—a bittersweet final reflection from a man always known as the "son of the soil."
  • A Final Message: Fans widely interpret the poem as Dharmendra’s final, gentle goodbye. Social media exploded with tributes, calling the verse "heart-wrenching" and a "timeless farewell from a legend."

🎬 Dharmendra's Final Role in Ikkis

The inclusion of this poem adds immense emotional weight to Ikkis, which is already a deeply moving biographical drama.

  • Film Details: Directed by National Award-winner Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis tells the true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, who was martyred at the age of 21 during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
  • Dharmendra's Role: Dharmendra plays the pivotal role of Brigadier M. L. Khetarpal, Arun's father. This role, of a proud but grieving father who raised an immortal soldier, is now doubly significant as Dharmendra's final screen appearance.
  • Cast & Release: The film stars Agastya Nanda (grandson of Amitabh Bachchan) as the young war hero, alongside Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikander Kher, and is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on December 25, 2025.

Dharmendra's final offering to cinema is not just an acting performance but a piece of poetry, ensuring that his legacy is cemented with sensitivity, courage, and a powerful connection to the land he loved.
