Tonight, IPS Officer Manoj KumarSharma and actor Vikrant Massey will be the two special guests at Kaun Banega Crorepati 16. The audience will also include the mother, wife, and son of Manoj Kumar Sharma. The mother of the IPS officer bemoans the fact that he never spends Diwali with family during their conversation with host Amitabh Bachchan. Big B folds his palm respectfully as he explains why.
In a new teaser, Amitabh Bachchan's mother bemoans the fact that Manoj Kumar
Sharma never spends Diwali or any other celebration with his family. The IPS
officer responds that joining the police service entails putting aside one's
personal convictions, such as caste, religion, or language, as the entire focus
changes to serving the country when Big B asks him why.
He informs the host of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, “A police officer cannot celebrate any festival, sir. I have never celebrated Diwali. Once you wear the uniform, you no longer have a religion, caste or language. You have to dedicate your entire life to the country. There is no fixed duty, 12 hours, 24 hours, sometimes we don’t go home for three days, sir.”
He continues telling, “A police officer is expected, especially at times when the whole society is out celebrating and enjoying, to ensure that nothing happens that disrupts their happiness. They are essentially social changers, the ones who bring change in society."
Amitabh Bachchan demonstrates his respect for each and every police officer as the crowd applauds. He says, folding his hand, "Sir, aaj na keval aapke samne, puri janta jitni hain police kke, that jod ke bolte hain bohot bohot dhanyavad aap sabko. (Not just in front of you, but I want to fold my hands in front of all the police who are our audience, many many thanks to you.)"
For those who are unfamiliar, 12th Fail, which is based on the book by Anurag Pathak, features Vikrant Massey and Palak Lalwani and vividly depicts the inspirational experiences of IRS officer Shraddha Joshi and IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma.
