He stated emphatically, "I don't know from where such baseless rumors have come up. This is nonsense. These [Aamir Khan, Rajkumar Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra] are good people and they can never do such a thing."

Shukla further added a logical perspective to the alleged similarities, noting that when films delve into universal subjects like "God" or "religion," some thematic overlaps are bound to occur. Recently, the first schedule of the Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu starrer Dunki’s shoot was wrapped up. Amidst all this, the latest report claims that Dunki’s DOP Amit Roy has quit the film over creative differences with Hirani.

As per media updates, DOP Amit Roy has quit Dunki as his vision did not match Hirani’s. Talking about the same, the well-known DOP told the news portal, “Yes, I am not doing 'Dunki' anymore. I shot for 18-19 days and quit. Raju Hirani and I had some creative differences. We both couldn't see from the same angle. But let me tell you that the parting was very amicable. We both sat down and then I quit. Honestly, I didn't want it to reach a stage of friction."

Calling the situation ‘unfortunate’, Roy revealed that he respects Hirani a lot. He also shared that he had collaborated with the filmmaker for a song in Sanju titled ‘Baba Bolta Hai Bas Ho Gaya’, along with some ads. “But you see, an ad is a collaborative effort wherein the client's vision also matters. But when it comes to a film, it is the director's vision,” he told. He also added that the scenes he shot will be retained in the movie.

Recently, Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani took to their respective social media handles to make big disclosure about their collaboration for Dunki. SRK is uniting with Rajkumar Hirani for Dunki, with Taapsee Pannu being the leading lady in the movie.

On his Instagram handle, Shah Rukh Khan posted a fun video that starts with him standing in Rajkumar Hirani’s office staring at the hit film posters of the filmmaker. The actor then asks the director if he has a film for him. To this Hirani announces 'Dunki' and we then get to see the motion poster of the movie. The movie went on floors this April 2022, with the next schedule being shot extensively in Punjab.

SRK to begin Rajkumar Hirani’s next in Mumbai’s Filmcity studio!

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has an exciting line-up of movies ahead including Siddharth Anand’s Pathan, which he will wrap up this month. As per media updates, after completing his remaining shooting for Pathan, SRK will begin shooting for Rajkumar Hirani’s untitled next.

As per a source close to the development, the movie is expected to roll in March, 2022. “Shah Rukh and Hirani have been wanting to collaborate for a while, and are really excited about this one. Pre-production work has already begun and a large set replicating a village in Punjab will be erected in Mumbai’s Filmcity studio. Construction work will begin in a few days, and a large chunk of the movie will be shot here. Meanwhile, they will also be filming in London and Budapest, recce for which is currently underway,” reveals a media source in the know. Reportedly, Taapsee Pannu is also a part of this project.

Rajkumar Hirani took to Facebook to say thanks to all those who alerted them about the pirated version. Hirani posted, "To all of you, who alerted us about the leaked copy of our film on Facebook. We discovered that some camera copy of our film Sanju was leaked on Facebook. While this was shocking, it was heartening to see that thousands of you refused to watch the film illegally, Instead, you reached out and drew our attention to the problem."

"We could manage to get it deleted with help from Facebook. Have to say that you all are exceptional human beings. You have the empathy to understand the sweat, blood and tears that got into making a movie and you have the strength to awaken the conscience of others by requesting them not to view it. Hirani is presently enjoying the success of his newest film "Sanju", which zoomed past the Rs 120 crore figure in its opening weekend.

Admiring the director, Akhtar revealed, "I am huge admirer of Rajkumar Hirani. He does really good work and now again, he has done an amazing job. I always say one thing about him that to make such kind of films you not only have to be really good director or writer, but you have to be really good human being. He is really good human being and that's what works for him" 

Akhtar talked with the media when he unveiled the Chitragupta Chowk at the corner of14th road and Danda Road (Khar) recently.

The unveiling was in the honour of the late Chitragupta Shrivastava, whose music career spun over four decades from 1946 to 1988. He composed for over 140 movies.

Rajkumar Hirani disclose the real reason behind Aamir Khan's no for Sanju!

Recently, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani disclosed the actual reason behind megastar Aamir Khan not playing the character of Sunil Dutt in the movie.

Rajkumar Hirani was intermingling with media at the trailer launch of 'Sanju' along with Ranbir Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Rajkumar Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Dia Mirza and Vicky Kaushal on Wednesday in Mumbai.

Aamir Khan lately told that he was offered the role of Sunil Dutt in the biopic, but he was more keen to play the lead role, which was already with Ranbir Kapoor. 

Rajkumar Hirani was questioned what his reaction was when Aamir Khan said no, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani revealed, "Aamir is a friend. Whenever I write a script, I just go to him and narrate it to get a reaction from him. So I narrated this script also.  Not with the intention of asking him to play any role. He reacted interestingly to the script and liked it. Then just out of greed, I asked Aamir if he would play Dutt saab's role? He took it seriously and gave it a thought. He said let's meet after a while. So I met him the next week again, then he showed me Dangal and said" 'look I'm already playing an older man's role. And if after Dangal, my next film has me play an older man again, then people will stop giving me a young man's role!' That was a valid argument. Finally, we had Pareshji (Rawal) playing Dutt Saab."

'Sanju' is a biographical film based on the life of actor Sanjay Dutt, directed and written by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The film is set to be released on June 29.

Rajkumar Hirani discloses Anushka’s character name in Sanju!

Recently, the trailer of Sanju is out and a trailer launch was held recently in the city, which was attended by Hirani and the cast including Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Dia Mirza, Sonam Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.

Missing from the launch was Anushka Sharma, who is presently shooting for Aanand L. Rai's Zero with Shah Rukh Khan.

Earlier, the first look of Anushka's character from Sanju had come out in the form of a poster and Rajkumar had posted, "And here is my dear friend Anushka. It’s a special appearance....but she worked on every nuance of the role for days together. Can anyone guess who she plays?....Will reveal tomorrow at the trailer launch."

As vowed, at the trailer launch lately when Hirani was questioned who Anushka was playing, the filmmaker disclosed, "Anushka is playing Abhijat Joshi and my role."

Abhijaat is the co-writer of Sanju with Hirani and was also the writer of Dutt's film Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006).

Sanju is slated to release on June 29, 2018.

Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani's untitled Sanjay Dutt's biopic has already generated a lot of buzz- thanks to Ranbir Kapoor's drastic physical transformation for the role and his strange resemblance to Dutt. 

Now, as per a report in a famous tabloid, Raju who was continuously in hunt for an actor to play Sanjay's wife Maanayata Dutt has finally found someone. But, she is apparently not an A-lister but an unknown actress who is Maanayata's look alike. 

"She is an unknown actress, but she looks exactly like Maana, so Hirani decided to go ahead with her,” a source was quoted telling. 

Speaking about Ranbir's look for the film, Dutt's spokesperson disclosed to a famous tabloid that Sanjay was taken aback when he saw the pictures that were doing the rounds on the Internet. "The resemblance is uncanny and Sanjay couldn’t stop staring at them,” he told.

Talking to a famous tabloid, a source close to the actor had told, “Sanjay got to know from someone how Ranbir’s look was circulated on various websites and everyone loved it. That’s when the actor learnt about the photos. On seeing them, he was stunned at the similarities that filmmaker Raju Hirani and Ranbir Kapoor had worked upon. He has absolutely loved it."

Whereas Ranbir while talking about his Dutt look had told, "As you can see, I’m in the look of Sanjay Dutt and we have shot for more than half of the film. It feels proud that I’m part of his biopic and I’m very thankful to Vinod Sir (Vidhu Vinod Chopra) and Sanjay (Dutt) sir specially for it."

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the movie also features Sonam Kapoor , Anushka Sharma , Dia Mirza, Manisha Koirala, Karishma Tanna, Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles. The movie is expected to release Christmas this year.

Physically Munna and Circuit might change a bit but Sanjay and Arshad will continue to be my divine fools, says Rajkumar Hirani!

Director Rajkumar Hirani had the viewers in splits with the first two parts of Munna Bhai series Munna Bhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munna Bhai. Hirani did begin the third part of the series Munna Bhai Chale Amkica but it got postponed. 

Now Raju, who is presently directing a biopic on Sanjay Dutt's life, is all set to roll the third part of the Munna Bhai series, post he finishes the Ranbir Kapoor starrer. 

In a communication with a famous tabloid, Raju spoke about how hopeful he is set to start his 3rd Munna Bhai film bringing back the lovable gangster and his hilarious aide, Circuit. As per Hirani, since the release of both Munna Bhai films, he has five half-written Munna Bhai scripts lying with him. “I could've taken any of them and released another film, knowing people would watch it. But, I don't want to make a Munna Bhai which is not as good, if not better, than the previous two. I'm going to make just one more after which someone else can take the franchise forward and it has to be equally good,“ he said. 

Raju further added, "Now, while I am shooting this film, Abhijat (Joshi) is working on the script of Munna Bhai 3. Optimistically, by the time I'm done with the biopic, it'll be ready and I can jump into it in the New Year. It's a great idea and in the same territory as the other two, but still just a half-worked idea." 

On the third part, Hirani told, “It's too early to say where it is going, but I had a great time working with Sanjay and Arshad earlier and I wanted to continue with them. The topic is such that it will suit an older Sanjay and Arshad. Physically Munna and Circuit might change a bit but they will continue to be my divine fools."

No Madhuri affair for Sanjay Dutt's biopic after Madhuri’s objection!

Madhuri Dixit Nene and Sanjay Dutt's love affair back in heydays was the topic of discussion for every famous daily. But post-Dutt's jail term, the affair died its natural death, and both Sanjay and Madhuri moved on with their individual lives. 

Now a biopic on the life of Sanjay Dutt is in the making and Ranbir Kapoor will be seen reprising the role of the megastar. The movie will seemingly touch all the aspects of the actor's life, from drugs to his affairs. 

The biopic is directed by Rajkumar Hirani and the shooting for the same has begun. Seemingly, alike all the other shocking incidents in Sanjay's life, his alleged affair with Madhuri Dixit Nene was to be featured in the movie. But as per a famous tabloid, that chapter doesn't include in the script anymore, thanks to Madhuri herself! 

A source told to the tabloid, “Initially, the affair was part of the biopic. But when Madhuri got to know about it, she quickly rushed to Rajkumar asking him to remove it. Their relationship is one of the most highlighted part of Sanjay’s life, but considering the actress’ current stature, she disapproved of it. Left with no option, Hirani had to eliminate it from the film.”

The Sanjay Dutt biopic stars Dia Mirza and Vicky Kaushal. Anushka Sharma and Sonam Kapoor will be seen as the leading ladies opposite Ranbir in the film. It is slated for a Christmas 2017 release. 

No use of any prosthetics for Ranbir to match Sanju’s look in the Dutt biopic!

Director Rajkumar Hirani will be directing the biopic based on the life of Sanjay Dutt. The movie will star Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. Since the project has been pronounced, details related to it have been kept under wraps. The rumours were widespread that Ranbir has done several look tests for the movie and the results have been great. 

But, numerous were astonished when Ranbir decided to step into Dutt's shoes considering the amount of physical transformation he has to undergo for his role. 

Now according reports in a famous tabloid, Ranbir has started preparing for the role, but won’t use any prosthetics to match Sanju’s look. A source told, “Ranbir has started preparation for the film. The actor has also been advised to transform his body organically since the makers are not keen to use prosthetics on him to match Sanjay’s persona from the ’80s and the ’90s."

On February 25, 2016, when Sanjay walked out of the prison, Hirani recorded the first shot of the movie. 

The untitled biopic is rumored to release on Christmas 2017 and might lock horns with Salman Khan'sTiger Zinda Hai which will release on December 22, 2017. 

I would like to work with Raju sir (Hirani) in whatever capacity I can, says Sonam Kapoor!

Actress Sonam Kapoor tells that she can't give confirmation about any of her future projects till the time the director or producer approve it but she would like to work with Rajkumar Hirani soon.

It has been stated that Hirani has zeroed in on Sonam Kapoor to play an actor from the 1980s and 1990s in Sanjay Dutt's biopic, opposite Ranbir Kapoor.

When she was questioned about that, she told, "That you've to ask Raju sir. I can't talk about any of my upcoming films till the director or producer speaks about it."

"However I would like to work with Raju sir (Hirani) in whatever capacity I can," she further added.

The actress, who essayed an inspiring role in Ram Madhvani's directorial "Neerja, tells that doing that movie was important for her.

"It is very humbling that people expect me to get the National Award for 'Neerja' but honestly speaking, I will not be saddened if I don't get it. Because doing the film itself is very important to me," told the actress at Brand Vision Summit 2016 on Wednesday.

Sonam will also be essaying one of the lead roles in Shahanka Ghosh's directorial "Veere Di Wedding". It’s a romantic comedy co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania.

International actress Priyanka Chopra's Marathi film Ventilator releases today. Earlier the release, a special screening of the movie was held at a special preview theatre in the burbs of Mumbai and many Bollywood celebrities attended the same.

Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, who is working on the Sanjay Dutt biopic, is presently scouting for two heroines to cast opposite Ranbir Kapoor in the movie. Seemingly, Hirani is looking for two young actresses—one will play Dutt's late first wife, Richa Sharma and the other will play his present wife, Maanayata.

The movie is slated to go on floors this October and it has been written by Hirani. Seemingly, the writer has not touched upon any controversial topic including the actor's chronic substance abuse and his experiences in prison; the movie instead focuses on family and love.

In the meantime, Ranbir is apparently spending time with Sanju Baba and his family to learn more about the actor and prepare for the role. Ranbir Kapoor will have to physically transform for the role.

Rajkumar Hirani’s 'germ of an idea' for the sequel to 3 Idiots!

Previously, there had been news that Rajkumar Hirani will make sequels to his movies PK and 3 Idiots and we have some thrilling news for all those who were awaiting updates on Hirani's plans.

Hirani lately confessed that he might not make PK 2 as he could not get a good idea to justify a sequel, but added that he has a 'germ of an idea' for the sequel to 3 Idiots and that he and writer Abhijat Joshi will work on it and develop it as and when they can. Hirani's next projects are Munnabhai 3 and the biopic on Sanjay Dutt.

PK had starred Aamir Khan as an alien, while 3 Idiots had him playing a quirky but brainy student. For those who do not know this, 3 Idiots was the first movie to breach the Rs. 200 crore mark in India.
