Bollywood stars Irrfan Khan and Deepika Padukone are all set
to team-up for Vishal Bharadwaj’s next movie which is an adaptation of S
Hussain Zaidi's book Mafia Queens of Mumbai. The book is based on the life and
times of Ashraf Khan who is popularly known as Sapna Didi.
Irrfan spoke to a renowned reporter and spoke about his
experience of working with Deepika in Piku. Irrfan revealed, “This name,
Deepika Padukone, it does something to me. I like her very much, as a human
being, as an actor. I still remember when we did Piku, we never interacted that
much before shooting. But we used to interact while shooting and I used to see
her spontaneous response to my thing. There was a kind of give and take which
was so special which suddenly made me alive as an actor. I think that is the
most beautiful gift to an actor if you get a live actor with you. There is a kind
of intelligence in her, the way she crafts her role. Piku’s character could
have gone anywhere, you know, it could have become a little annoying character
because it was written that way, that she is hyper.”
Irrfan had previously revealed, ''I will always be excited
to work with Deepika. I am all the more excited this time (as to) how our
chemistry (will) work. In this film, I am not (portraying) a decent or
civilised man, so our equation in this film is completely (different from
'Piku'). She is the most beautiful person and a good human being. It gives me
happiness when I see Deepika.”
