Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor has been entangled in numerous controversies regarding the movie’s content. Several Rajput groups have been protesting against the movie as they believe that there is a dream sequence between Queen Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali had posted a video clarifying that no such sequence has been shot. Even after that, protests haven’t stopped and numerous leaders have threatened physical harm.

Twinkle Khanna who is known for her humorous takes on significant issues, wrote on twitter, “And as far as #Padmavati is concerned I wish it is the biggest hit ever as that would be the befitting rejoinder to all these loony threats!”

Twinkle Khanna’s take is numerous Bollywood celebrities’ opinion too. They have come out to support the movie. Earlier Sonam Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor had voiced their opinion in support of the movie. Lately, Nana Patekar and Vishal Bharadwaj also voiced their support for the film.

Padmavati’s lead actor Shahid Kapoor also spoke out recently on the sidelines of IFFI and told, “It will be a precedent which I am not proud of if the film finds it difficult to release. I believe that the film will release. I believe that this process is difficult and like I said, I went through a similar process with Udta Punjab. I eventually saw the film come out and I eventually saw the film loved and celebrated.”
