Actress Deepika Padukone's Padmavati has lastly been pushed
for another day release following nonstop protests, threats and CBFC fiasco.
The film was previously slated to release on December 1, 2017.
Now, that the date is free, news suggest that the makers of
Kapil Sharma's film Firangi are looking to pushing their release to December 1
so that they can get a free run.
Kapil's movie was actually supposed to hit the theatres this
year but now the team is seemingly looking to shift the release. A source revealed
a tabloid, "The film has been sent to the CBFC (Central Board Of Film
Certification), but it has not been certified yet. The certification might
happen today. In that case, the film will stick to its original release date
(November 24). But now that Padmavati has moved, the producers are also
thinking about taking up the vacant December 1 slot.”
The source further added, “Along with that, Firangi will
have two weeks’ run before Fukrey 2 releases. That will boost the film’s
collections as there’s no other film to compete with. The film will get a good
breathing space.”
If the makers do shift the release date, this will buy Kapil
time to promote the movie as many interviews were cancelled following his ill
health.
