Previously it was stated that Salman
Khan will be making his Marathi singing debut in Mahesh
Manjrekar's forthcoming directorial Friendship Unlimited (FU).
He recorded the modern day adaptation of hit retro song
Panchhi Banoon Udti Phiru from the
film Chori Chori. Music director Vishal Mishra confirmed the news to a daily
stating, "Salman fell in love with the song and the way it was recreated.
I had the privilege to record it in his voice and he rendered it so well that
it gave an all-new dimension to the song. It has now turned out to be the
highlight of the film."
Now as per a famous daily, Salman recorded the song straight
in 45 minutes leaving everybody surprised. Vishal told, "Salman's grasping
power is great. I was amazed when he completed the recording of the song,
Gachi, in 45 minutes flat."
He further added, "He had heard the song so many times
that he picked it up quickly. His voice had more energy than mine."
When asked if the song was auto-tuned like Salman's previous
songs, Mishra told, "Auto-tune is used in almost all songs these days
because it enhances pitch accuracy. I have composed 16 songs for FU and used
auto-tuner in each of them. In Salman's case, we used it to enhance the edge.
Had another singer sung it, I would have used the technology even then. But
Salman was the best choice for it."
Salman had to record the song again as the director Mahesh
felt a few Marathi words weren't pronounced right. Speaking about it, Vishal
told, "I was happy post-dubbing with Salman, but Maheshji felt the Marathi
words sounded wrong and asked me to dub it once more. I approached Salman and
he gracefully agreed to re-record the song."
