The last time Vipul Shah had directed a film was in 2010 and
it was Action Replayy which starred Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya
Rai Bachchan. Since then he has taken the producer's cap with flicks like Holiday,
Force and Force 2.
Now Vipul will be going back to his roots as he is ready to
get into direction again. This time, the tale revolves around an article which
he read back in 2009 about the growing market for drug testing on humans in
India.
"The project kept getting delayed but it’s a story
waiting to be told," Vipul said a famous daily. He further added, "It
is a unique, high-concept drama."
As per the daily, Saif Ali Khan has been
approached for the film and is presently going through the script but Vipul denied
to comment.
When we tried to get in touch with Saif about the film, the
actor was inaccessible for comment.
"The facts are real. It’s the story of a doctor who
stumbles on this conspiracy which is a work of fiction," discloses Vipul
as the medical drama has been researched thoroughly by his writers, Suresh Nair
and Ritesh Shah.
On whether he plans a sequel to the movie, he told,
"That would depend on how it fares. I don’t plan a film with a franchise
in mind. It would be difficult to take this forward but you never
know."
On what it feels like to be back as a director, Vipul told,
"I feel like it’s my first film as a director but I’ve always felt that
way. And unless I feel this way, I can’t put my best foot forward."
He also spoke about plans for a Force 3 in the
making. He told, "We are hoping to roll with it by the year end.
Demonetisation did hit the business of Part 2 but it was still appreciated for
its performances, style and scale. And the Force is still with
us."
