Though Shahid Kapoor keeps saying that he recommended his ex-girlfriend
Kareena Kapoor Khan for a role in Udta Punjab, it was Karan Johar who actually convinced
her to give her nod to the project.
Approving the same, Kareena told that she had been unsure
about whether to star in the film or not, but when Karan Johar called her up
and asked her to take up the role; she finally agreed to do so. It seems that
it was Shahid, who had requested Johar to call up Kareena as he felt that the
actress was perfect for the role.
Udta Punjab also stars Shahid, Alia Bhatt and Diljit
Dosanjh.
