Superstar Dhanush has expressed that he is overjoyed to sign
his first Hollywood movie and thanked his fans for their nonstop support.
The movie titled The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who
Got Trapped in the Ikea Cupboard has been directed by Iran-born, France-based
filmmaker Marjane Satrapi.
The 32 year old actor posted, “Elated to sign my first
Hollywood film @The__Fakir,directed by Marjane Satrapi. A big thank you to all
for the warm wishes keeps pushing me!”
Based on the Romain Puertolas' bestselling debut novel of
the same name, the comedy adventure movie follows a wild storyteller from New
Delhi who falls in love with a woman when he reaches Parish, but unintentionally
gets deported along with a group of African refugees against his choice.
The novel, which came out in 2014, has been translated into
35 languages. It tells the pilgrimage of a con man from India to an IKEA in
Paris which turns into a philosophical odyssey.
The movie also stars Oscar-nominated actors Uma Thurman
(Pulp Fiction), Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips) along with the super talented
Seema Biswas (of Bandit Queen fame).
