Fans of Tom Cruise are certain to pump their hands in the
air with joy at reading this piece of news. Sources have confirmed that Tom
Cruise, who had played cocky Navy pilot Pete Mitchell in Top Gun, will reprise
the role in the sequel to the movie, which is being planned by Skydance.
Skydance CEO David Ellison said that the project is in
development and hinted that Cruise, 52, may reprise his role in the movie.
Ellison also informed that the film will be set in the present and explore the
end of an era of dog-fighting and fighter pilots in the wake of drones.
In the meantime, Tom will reprise his role as IMF agent
Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation and as former Army
MP-turned-vigilante Reacher in the sequel to Jack Reacher.
