A few months she was seen as an investigation reporter in
Dilliwaali Zaalim Girlfriend. The movie was a caper affair. Now later this
month, she would be seen in a relatively serious movie Aisa Yeh Jahaan.
"Yes, I am opposite Palash Sen in the film," tells
Ira, "He is making his comeback as an actor as he had done Filhaal 13
years ago. He is doing very well with his band Euphoria and during the shooting
of our film also, he was continuing to perform all over the world. It is good
that he decided to come back to acting as well. He is a very naturalistic actor
and it is always nice to work with people who are down to earth. The film is
made by Biswajeet Bora who has worked with Jahnu Barua as an Assistant Director
for 10 years. You can certainly expect a class treatment with the film."
This isn't all as she has another movie up for release too,
which is entertainingly titled M Cream.
"It is an Indie road-trip story about three youngsters
who go to Himachal. The film is a comment on the drug culture as these
youngsters travel all the way to get hash. Imaad Shah and Auritra Ghosh play
best friends and then I join in as well. I am playing a Bengali girl and it is
a very nice part. Though earlier I had thought that (director) Agneya Singh may
be offering me another vivacious part, I was pleasantly surprised to get the
other part. The character I am playing is quite interesting in terms of
complexity and a larger part," she details.
While Aisa Yeh Jahaan arrives on 24th July, the release date
of M Cream would be announced soon.
