Ek Paheli Leela is the surprise for the modern age moviegoers. Less expectations are always well for a movie and in case of this movie, you end up getting such a lovely surprise that you can't help but credit the makers for coming up with a complete entertainer. In the end, you get a huge twist in the story which is not just truly shocking but also put and out original.

A re-embodiment affair, what engrosses you really well is the fact that it doesn't follow the clichéd path that movies belonging to this genre generally follow. In fact there are two stories running in parallel, one with Sunny Leone and another with Jay Bhanushali, with both running flawlessly. If Sunny plays a huge European supermodel of Indian origin, Jay is a musician based out of Mumbai. Both have difficulties of their own. Sunny is claustrophobic while Jay gets haunting dreams. Even as the two battle it out, they meet at a common place, Jaisalmer, where their past from 300 years ago catches up with them.

Now with a tale like this, director Bobby Khan could well have found himself trapped in following a usual story. But this is where he gets truly creative. Instead of walking the normal path, he brings in new characters, situations and twists in the story that end up making this rebirth drama quite original in its stage, setting and treatment.

With Sunny Leone in the lead, he could well have been tempted to play just on her image. But, he does a lot more. First and foremost, he creates a new image for her - that of a true Hindi movie heroine. If Jism 2 had shown her as a temptress, Jackpot had wasted her and Ragini MMS 2 had played on her porn star image, Ek Paheli Leela re-introduces her as a leading lady who can show different facets of her acting skills. In a double role, she amusingly surprises by not just flaunting her body beautiful but also showing the vulnerable, fiery and romantic side of her. She is a big surprise.

Bobby brings in as many as five men and each one of them has his characterization charted out very well. So while Jay is present right through the course of the movie and delivers a good act, Mohit Ahlawat surprises big time in a role that requires him to play a mature and level headed Rajput. He is composed and in control with a very good screen performance, somewhat that he had demonstrated well in his debut movie James as well. Rajniesh Duggall underplays his part well as an artist from centuries ago and is enjoyable on eyes, as before. His part is comparatively short but is very relevant to the tale. It is fun to see Jas Arora coming back on the big screen. He brightens the screen every time he comes and imitates Gulshan Grover pretty well. He would surely be seen more often now.

What is seen quite often on screen are songs and dances, which are around 8-10 in number and are perfectly placed in the movie. When sometimes even 3-4 songs seem too much in certain movies, there are no such complaints during Ek Paheli Leela due to their picturization and relevance.

Though interval point of the movie is not as charged up and intriguing as one would have predictable, it is the second half and then the last 30 minutes that completely catch you by shock. This is really one of the most creative climaxes written.

On the whole, it is good intended film, watch once for experiencing innovative reincarnation story.

Hansal Mehta is hopeful about Aligarh's release!

Hansal Mehta is known for making hard hitting and influential movies. His movie Shahid won a national award and he is making yet another impactful movie. His movie Aligarh starring Manoj Bajpayee in the lead role wrapped up the shoot and will be released soon. The movie touches upon the controversial topic of homosexuality, where Manoj plays a professor who is caught having sex with one of his male students. Going by the recent diktat of the Censor Board, it doesn't seem likely that Aligarh would get the green signal from the board, but Mehta chooses to stay confident.

The Citylights film-maker hopes that the CBFC board will see beyond the controversial nature of the movie and instead support the sensitivity of the content. Mehta is self-confident that the current government is democratic and will not ban his movie, even though in the past several extremist outfits have protested against homosexuality depiction in movies.

Aligarh is based on a real life incident and also stars Rajkummar Rao.

Film Mr. X’s songs like Teri Khushboo & Alif Se are enjoyable and melodious numbers.

Release Date:  17 April 2015

Genre: Thriller
Banner: Vishesh Films, Fox Star Studios
Producer: Mukesh Bhatt
Director: Vikram Bhatt
Cast: Emraan Hashmi, Amyra Dastur

Music Director: Jeet Ganguly, Ankit Tiwari, Ankur Tiwari
Lyricist: Rashmi Singh, Mohnish Raza, Abhendra Kumar Upadhyay, Manoj Shukla

After having tested quite a bit with movies outside his home banner in his past few releases, actor Emraan Hashmi returns to familiar Bhatt-territory with Vikram Bhatt directed Mr. X which has him playing an invisible man taking the role of a vigilante. Issaq debutante, Amyra Dastur stars opposite Hashmi in this sci-fi thriller which has its music composed by the Aashiqui 2 duo of Jeet Ganguly and Ankit Tiwari. Obviously hopes are quite high from the composer duo after their super successful pairing with the Bhatt family.

The album begins with Tu Jo Hain reminds one so much of Ankit Tiwari’s past successes. The singing, composition and even the lyrics have a heard-before feeling and therefore do not make much of an impression.

The next one Mr. X, the title song is up next and has been composed by Jeet Ganguly. A James Bond styled theme track, it also has Producer-Director Mahesh Bhatt making his debut behind the mike along with Mili Nair. Nair’s powerful vocals manages to mask the dullness of this very average composition while Bhatt too is a delight with his recitation.

The next song Saad Shukrana is Tiwari’s second contribution to the album. Though the mood is somber, the arrangement is more inventive and different and that is the track’s USP.

Ankit’s next one is Alif Se. The composer goes full on techno with Alif Se and the end result is quite satisfactory. The tune is quite catchy and the tinge of sufi music adds to the niceness quotient. Both Tiwari and his female counterpart, Neeti Mohan do a good job behind the mike thus making Alif Se one of the better songs of this album.

The last track is composed by Jeet Ganguly, Teri Khushboo is not only high on emotions but also soulful and tuneful at the same time. The song in fact, appears in two versions in the album. The male version has been voiced by Arijit Singh whereas the female version has been rendered by Palak Muchhal. Both the singers have done an excellent job with their renditions.

Overall, Composers Jeet Ganguly and Ankit Tiwari have not accurately lived up to the listener’s hopes with the soundtrack of Mr. X. This being a very short album, the composers had the responsibility of making the maximum impact but unluckily have not really lived up to their potential.

In general, songs like Teri Khushboo & Alif Se are enjoyable and melodious numbers.

Chitrangada Singh’s sizzling avatar in Kundi Mat Khadkao Raja song!

The makers of Akshay Kumar starrer Gabbar Is Back lately released a romantic number featuring Akshay and Kareena named Teri Meri Kahaani. The movie, which revolves around an anti-corruption hero also features Shruti Haasan and has been directed Krish.

Hottie Chitrangda Singh will also be featuring in the movie in a special dance number. The song's name is Kundi Mat Khadkao Raja and Chitrangda has donned an all gold, shimmering ensemble for the song with flaming red lips. She was last seen on the big screen in 2013 in I, Me Aur Main. It's going to be great seeing the Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi actress perform again.

Vidya Balan’s cooking for her film ‘Hamari Ahduri Kahani’ Crew!

The cast and crew of movies often get bored of the food they get on sets. More often than not stars bring their home food to the sets much to everyone's pleasure. Salman Khan is famous for supplying biryani from his house which is well loved and really popular among his crew. Now, seems like Vidya Balan is taking a leaf out of his book and turning caterer on the sets of her movie Hamari Adhuri Kahani.

A few crew members fell sick on during the film's schedule so Vidya decided to bring food cooked from her home not only for herself but for everybody else as well so that the entire crew can eat healthy. We hear that she has been treating them to wholesome meals as well as cupcakes and sweets. Hamari Adhuri Kahani is based on the true story of Mahesh Bhatt's parents. It is being directed by Mohit Suri and features Emraan Hashmi opposite Vidya Balan in the lead.

Priyanka Chopra’s glamorous avatar in ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’!

After shooting for her American series, Priyanka Chopra is back in Mumbai and is now ready for the release of her next film Dil Dhadakne Do. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the film features a long list of talented actors like Anil Kapoor, Shifaali Shah, Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma and many others.

In the movie, Priaynak plays the uber stylish Ayesha Mehra. This role is totally different from her last movie Mary Kom, in which she was seen in a complete de-glam avatar. Dil Dhadakne Dorevolves around a family which is vacationing on a cruise and the various complex relationships that exist between them. We are very interested to see what Zoya Akhtar has come up with this time, considering her last movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara has set such high expectations.

Film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! Review

Rajit Kapur’s famous TV show of the '90s set a benchmark for all those who wished to weave a story around detective Byomkesh Bakshi’s adventures, without doubt one of Indian literature's most recognizable figures. Reasonably, many didn't give director Dibakar Banerjee much of a chance when he announced last year that he's planning a movie around this cult figure. Even Sushant Singh Rajput, as the detective, didn't inspire much confidence either but we must say that Dibakar Banerjee doesn’t disappoint you in his new venture.

Set in war-torn Calcutta of 1940s, the movie revolves around the adventures of Byomkesh Bakshy, a college graduate and an amateur detective, who is approached by a young man Ajit (Anand Tiwari) to seek help in tracing his missing father Bhuvan.

At first hesitant Bakshy agrees to take on the case, but it soon becomes clear that the courageous man might have bitten off more than he can chew. Soon, Bakshy finds himself neck-deep in Chinese gangsters, secret operatives of the Japanese Army, a femme fatale, drug dealers and Indian nationalists, a regular UNO of suspects.

Sushant Singh Rajput pulls off the role with self-confidence and becomes the character rather than a hero, who must be unbeatable because of his status in the movie. Sushant’s Bakshy is more of Tintin than Sherlock and the actor is careful to not let the sleuth become larger-than-life. With his slicked hair, a cigarette dangling from his lips and an charming smile, Sushant simply wins your heart with his act. Anand Tiwari, who has been mostly seen playing comic characters, makes you sit up and take notice of his character, an Indian Watson, who might seem geeky with his glasses and diminutive stature, but who is quick with his fists when the situation calls for it even as Byomkesh timidly implores him to not engage in fisticuffs. Swastika Mukherjee, who plays the mysterious Angoori Devi, plays her part well and other actors like Meiyang Chang, Neeraj Kabi, Divya Menon and others, too do justice to their roles.

The admirable part about the film is the way Bakshy’s character has been shaped up and his transformation from a clumsy but passionate man, who is still unsure of himself at times to the confident detective that he eventually turns into, is subtle, believable and bang-on. Dibakar’s Bakshy is not a super-slick sleuth like Sherlock Holmes or Hercule Poirot, but a common man, who is just a bit brighter than others around him and we thank Banerjee for making the character so real and authentic.

Another thing worth mentioning about the movie is the way has been shot. Charming and yet sinister by turns, the city itself becomes a character in the movie with its coffee-houses, narrow alleys and dark, mean streets, where dope and death can be dealt out in the blink of an eye.

Dibakar takes his own sweet time unraveling the enigma, but if you want to soak in the experience of an old-school noir, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! is unquestionably your cup of tea.

The suspense is noble, but the movie is more like a thriller in its structure. The background score seems bizarre as it’s hard to imagine hard rock in Calcutta of those times, but trust me, it unquestionably fits into the scheme of things. In fact, it may ring in your head every time somebody mentions detective Byomkesh Bakshy.

One more thing that undoubtedly stands out is Nikos Andritsakis' cinematography. His frames have brilliantly captured the colonial City of Joy in different colours and many moods.

Overall, it is praiseworthy to watch once for experiencing the great Indian detective story with Sushant Singh Rajput’s powerful performance.

Ranveer Singh's weirdest acts in public!

Ranveer Singh, who was lately admitted to the hospital due to an injury which he suffered on the sets of Bajirao Mastani, surprised fans by giving live updates from the operation theatre. The actor continued his promise of keeping his fans abreast with developments by Tweeting once he got discharged yesterday.

He told, "Surgery went well...Back home now & all set for the Rehab phase...Thank u all for ur love n concern! <3  #stongerthanbefore #eyeofthetiger"  Once he left the hospital, he even posed for the shutter-bugs before heading home to rest. Amid this chaos, we hear that his lady love Deepika Padukone also paid him a visit but made a discreet exit through the back gate of the hospital. Our fondness for this couple grows day by day!

Nawazuddin Siddiqui to play an ISI agent in Bajrangi Bhaijaan?

The shooting schedule for Kabir Khan's forthcoming movie Bajrangi Bhaijaan is going on at a steady pace with only 30 percent of the movie remaining to be completed. We had lately reported that the schedule has been postponed due to the floods in Kashmir, where the other parts of the movie were to be shot.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan features Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khanand Nawazuddin Siddiqui and the makers have so far done their best to keep the film's plot under wraps. There has been a lot of presumption about Nawazuddin's role and there were rumors about him playing a Pakistani politician in the movie. But, it has now surfaced that he will be playing the role of an ISI agent in the film. He will be leaving for Kashmir soon to shoot some crucial parts of the film. The buzz around Bajrangi Bhaijaan is huge and it will be great to see Kick stars Salman and Nawazuddin reunite on the big screen.

Nikhil Advani reschedules 'Katti Batti' to accommodate Kangana's hectic schedule!

It is common news that Kangana Ranaut will be a part of Nikhil Advani's next project titled Katti Batti, which will see her paired opposite Imran Khan in the movie. But, Kangana started facing some scheduling issues as she had to juggle Aanand L Rai's Tanu Weds Manu Returns along with this movie.

Soon it proved to be too much for Kangana and this is when Nikhil stepped in and offered to delay Katti Batti. Nikhil tells that film makers should take steps like this to help each other out and believes that Rai would do the same thing for him. From a box office perspective this makes sense, because if Tanu Weds Manu Returns does well, it will benefit his movie with Kangana too. The Queen actress on her part is all praise for Nikhil and tells that he has amazing spirit and perspective.

Khuda Bhi lyrics:

Khuda bhi jab tumhe mere paas dekhta hoga
Khuda bhi jab tumhe mere paas dekhta hoga
Itni anmol cheez de di kaise, sochta hoga!
Tu be-misaal hai, teri kya misaal doon
Aasmaan se aayi hai, yehi keh ke taal doon
Phir bhi koi jo pooche, kya hai tu kaisi hai
Hathon me rang leke, hawaa me uchaal doon
(hawaa mein uchhal doon..)

Khuda bhi jab tumhe mere paas dekhta hoga
Itni anmol cheez de di kaise, sochta hoga!

Jo bhi zameen tere paaon tale aaye
Kadmon se chooke woh aasmaan ho jaaye
Tere aage pheeke pheeke saare shringar hai
Main toh kya farishte bhi tujhpe nissar hain
Garmi ki shaam hai tu, jaadon ki dhoop hai
Jitne bhi mausam hain, tere karzdaar hain
(tere karzdaar hain..)

Khuda bhi jab tere andaaz dekhta hoga
Itni anmol cheej de di kaise, sochta hoga!

Chehra hai ya jaadu, roop hai ya khwab hai
Aankhein hain ya afsaana, jism ya kitaab hai
Aaja tujhe main padh loon, dil mein utaar loon
Hothon se dekhun tujhe, aankhon se pukar loon
Khwahishein ye kehti hain, kehti rehti hain
Leke tujhe baahon mein shaamein guzaar loon
(shaamein guzaar loon..)

Khuda bhi ab tujhe din raat dhoondta hoga
Itni anmol cheej de di kaise, sochta hoga!

Mujhse hi aaj mujhko mila de

Main aas-paas tere aur mere paas..

Daudte hain khwaab jinpe rasta woh tu lage
Neend se jo aankh ka hai waasta woh tu lage

In labon pe jo hansi hai inki tu hi hai wajah
Bin tere me kuch nahi hun mera hona bewajah
Dhoop teri na pade to dhundhla sa main lagun
Aake saanse de mujhe tu taaki zinda me rahun
Main aas-paas tere aur mere paas...

Tu hai ki nahi
Tu hai ki nahi
Tu hai ki nahi
Tu hai ki nahi... (x2)

Jaise Mera Tu lyrics:

Uljhi si baatein dil
Mujhse bhi baantein
To mehar.. mehar.. meherbaniya
(Meher.. meher.. meherbaniya)
Khud hi samajh ke mujhe samjha de
To mehar.. mehar.. meherbaniya
(Meher.. meher.. meherbaniya)

Ho meherbani jo dil de zubaani
Keh de wo jo na kabhi kaha hai

Aise Tera Main.. Jaise Mera Tu
Aise Tera Main.. Jaise Mera Tu..

Milte rahe jo aise hi dono
Lag na jaaye ishq ki nazar
Aye dil farebi, tham sa gaya kyun
Aisi waisi baat soch kar

Bas mein na mere ab ye raha hai
Tujh pe aake dil ye jo ruka hai

Aise tera main.. jaise mera tu
Aise tera main.. Jaise mera tu
Jaise Mera Tu..
Aye.. oo.. ee..
Na na.. yea..

(Mehar.. mehar.. meherbani ho)

Fariyad karti phir yaad karti
Sochti hoon tumko baar baar
Na chahatein hain, par chaahte kyun
Tumko yunhi mere aas paas

Kuch bhi nahi hai
Kuch phir bhi hai
Tumse milke dil ko ye laga hai

Aise tera main.. jaise mera tu
Aise tera main.. Jaise mera tu
Jaise mera tu (jaise mera tu..)
Jaise mera tu (jaise mera tu..)
Jaise mera tu (jaise mera tu..)
Hoo hoo.. (jaise mera tu)
Meher.. meher.. meherbaniyan
Jaise mera tu..
Jaise mera tu!

Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai lyrics:

Darwaaze ko kundi maaro
Koi na bach ke jaane paaye
DJ ko samjha do,
music ghalti se bhi ruk na jaaye
Adha taka jo feel kare wo dou RedBull gatak le
Aur jisko dance nahi karna
Woh jaake apni bhains charaye

Bas aaj ki raat hai
Kal se wohi siyaape hain
Jee bhar ke naache lo
Na ghar waale na maape hain
Sab pe apna raaz hai
Darne ki kya baat hai
Yeh toh bas shuruaat hai
(Yeh toh bas shuruaat hai)
Arey abhi toh party shuru hui hai..
Arey abhi toh party shuru hui hai..
Yeh toh bas shuruaat hai

Baad mein na kehna kuch bhi
Pehle hi de doon warning
Party chalegi till six in the morning
Jee bhar ke naach le baby
Naach naach ke tod de sandal
Aunty police bula legi to
Yaar tera kar lega handle

Soochna janhit mein jaari
Jisko apni jaan pyaari
Chup-chaap wo floor pe aaye
Floor pe aake naache gaaye
Nakhre vakhre na dikhaaye
Sharm ko kar de bye bye
Michael Jackson wale
Do teen action karke dikhaye
Party karni hai, hum party karenge
Kisi ke bhi papa se nahi darenge
Hum hain baby hum, baaki saare paani kam
Humein rok ke dikhaaye jiski bum me hai dum

Masti hai mahaul mein
Chaayi ek khumaari hai
Saare thak ke baith gaye
Par apni party jaari hai
Arey panga toh koi shuru kare
Patni bhi garaari hai
Jimmy Choo ki nouk pe rakhi duniya saari hai

Arey abhi toh party shuru hui hai..
Arey abhi toh party shuru hui hai..
Aur jisko dance nahi karna
Woh jaake apni bhains charaye
Aa ha ha ha

The main sequence of Priyanka Chopra’s forthcoming Hollywood series ‘Quantico’ has wrapped up. And now her look as FBI trainee Alex Weaver is out.

This costume of Priyanka reminds us of her Roma look in ‘Don 2’. But even then, we like her killer attitude as Alex Weaver.

‘Quantico’ is produced by Mark Gordon, Josh Safran and Nick Pepper. The plot revolves around a group of young FBI recruits, all with definite reasons for joining, who battle their way through training at the Quantico base in Virginia.

Dibakar is known for being meticulous and never green lights a project unless he is completely happy about it. Known to be a perfectionist we wonder if this change in ending will have any impact on how the audience perceives the story. Now, all we have to do is wait with bated breath.
