Beyond the Script: Varun Dhawan Reveals His 'Not Filmy' Proposal Story to Natasha Dalal!
In the glitzy world of Bollywood, love stories are often as
polished as a film set, with grand gestures and perfect endings. But at the
trailer launch for his new film, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, VarunDhawan pulled back the curtain on his own love story, revealing a proposal
so hilariously flawed it was a perfect contradiction to any on-screen romance.
When a reporter asked the actor to describe how he proposed
to his wife, Natasha Dalal, Varun was momentarily speechless, prompting
his co-star Rohit Saraf to quip, "Out of syllabus aa gaya bhai!" But
Varun took the moment to share a candid, "not filmy" tale that is all
the more endearing for its imperfection.
The Reality Behind the Reel: A Poolside Fiasco
Varun began by explaining his romantic vision: he wanted to
propose to Natasha underwater in a pool. The plan was to play Marc Anthony's
classic song, "You Sang to Me," and then surprise her with the ring
beneath the surface. However, reality set in quickly.
"We were in a pool and main neeche jaake upar aake use
dena chahta tha," he explained, describing his attempts to dive and
resurface with the ring. But after two or three unsuccessful tries, the final
attempt was the most comically telling. As he finally managed to come up for
air, he found that Natasha had already stepped out of the pool.
"So it was not filmy as it seems," Varun confessed
with a laugh, highlighting the stark contrast between his elaborate plan and
its messy execution.
A Story That Redefines Romantic
Varun's story is a beautiful reminder that the most romantic
gestures aren't always the most flawless. The chaos of his failed underwater
attempts and Natasha's simple act of getting out of the pool make the moment
uniquely theirs. In the end, there was no dramatic reveal from the water, just
a man on one knee, asking the woman he loves to marry him.
The fact that the proposal happened after a series of
hilarious blunders only makes their love story more authentic and relatable.
With a new film on the horizon and a child by his side, Varun Dhawan’s life is
a testament to the idea that love, just like life, doesn't always go according
to script. His candidness has added a new, charming layer to his public
persona, proving that true romance is found not in the perfect moments, but in
the ones you can laugh about later.
