The highly anticipated directorial debut of Aryan Khan, "The Ba***ds of Bollywood," is creating a massive buzz, and leading the praise is none other than actor Bobby Deol. In a recent exclusive interview and at a preview event for the show, Bobby Deol not only lauded the young filmmaker's talent but also shared some hilarious and revealing behind-the-scenes stories about Aryan's work ethic and perfectionist approach.
A 'Tough Taskmaster' with an 'Amazing' Vision
Bobby Deol, who plays the role of an established star, Ajay Talwar, in the satirical series, was effusive in his praise for Aryan. "The way Aryan has done that is just amazing," he said. "From mature characters to younger characters, he's just brought out the best in everyone."
However, the actor also revealed that working with Aryan was an intense and demanding experience. With a laugh, he recalled how Aryan's passion led to a relentless pursuit of perfection. "Woh alag baat hai ki boht nichodha hamein (he overworked us a lot)," Bobby said. "He used to ask me, 'One more take?' and I used to say, 'Haan beta, ek aur take.' Initially, I thought he was going to go easy on us, but his one-more takes never ended."
The Late-Night Call to Shah Rukh Khan
Adding a humorous layer to the story, Shah Rukh Khan himself
chimed in at the event, revealing that Bobby once called him in the middle of
the night to "complain" about his son. "Ek baar isne raat ko
call karke bola, ki tu aja bhai yeh boht kaam karwa raha hai, mujhe jaana hai
ab (He called me one time during the night and told me, 'Please come to the
set, he is making us work too much. I need to go now')," SRK shared, to
the amusement of the audience. This lighthearted anecdote perfectly captured
the respect and camaraderie on set, despite the hard work.
"He Has More Fire Than Shah Rukh"
In an even more startling revelation, Bobby Deol compared Aryan's passion to that of his superstar father. "The fire which he has is way beyond what Shah Rukh has," Bobby told a leading publication. "Shah Rukh is someone who's always out there, he never gives up. This child is way beyond that. And to have that quality so young, it must be the same as what Shah Rukh might have been at that age."
Bobby highlighted Aryan's focus, conviction, and passion, calling him a "perfectionist" who lives in the "real world." He confessed that he agreed to do the project without even reading the script, simply because he wanted to be a part of Aryan's debut.
The journey of "The Ba***ds of Bollywood," which
satirizes the film industry and its tropes, is a testament to the hard work and
clear vision of its young director. As Bobby Deol’s glowing praise confirms,
Aryan Khan is not just a star kid but a serious filmmaker ready to make his
mark.
