Mumbai is enveloped in sorrow as actress Mannara Chopra and her younger sister Mitali Handa bid a tearful goodbye to their beloved father, Advocate Raman Rai Handa, who passed away on June 16, 2025, at the age of 72.
A Pillar of Strength Remembered
Raman Rai Handa, an advocate by profession, was a respected figure and, as Mannara herself shared in an official statement on Instagram, "the pillar of strength for our family."
The news of his passing left the family in deep shock, especially Mannara, who was reportedly out of Mumbai at the time and rushed back to be with her family.
An Emotional and Public Farewell
The funeral procession was a deeply emotional event, made more poignant by the heavy rain that accompanied the proceedings. Videos circulating online show Mannara, dressed in a white suit, visibly distraught and struggling to control her emotions. Her sister Mitali was also inconsolable, with Mannara often seen holding onto her, offering what comfort they could to each other in their shared grief.
In one particularly moving moment captured on camera, Mannara was seen insisting on helping carry her father's bier, a traditional role typically undertaken by male family members.
Family members, including Mannara's mother Kamini Chopra Handa and Parineeti Chopra's father Pawan Chopra, were present to pay their last respects.
A Family United in Grief
The outpouring of grief from the Chopra-Handa family and the wider community is a testament to Raman Rai Handa's life and the profound impact he had on those around him. The viral videos serve as a stark reminder of the pain of losing a loved one, drawing immense sympathy and support from fans and well-wishers for Mannara and her family during this incredibly difficult time. As the family navigates this profound loss, their unity and strength are evident, even amidst the deepest sorrow.
