Superstar Aamir Khan is one of those actors whose flicks
have strong female characters as compared to his own role in the movie. His
last hit Dangal depicted the life and times of two female wrestlers who made
the nation proud in the field of wrestling. His soon to be released film Secret
Superstar also has the female lead essayed by Zaira Wasim while Aamir will be
seen in an extended cameo role.
During a latest communication with the media, the megastar
was questioned if he would like to do movies which show gender equality than
woman empowerment. To which the actor told that a lot of his movies had the
female lead being a stronger character than its male counterparts. Aamir clarified
this by giving examples of a few of his movies.
Aamir revealed, "If we look at a film like Ghajini
also, I think Kalpana's (Asin) role was much better than Sanjay Singhania
(Aamir). She is the heart of the film and that is the character which is author
backed and the one you go home with."
Mr Perfectionist further revealed, "In Rang De Basanti
also, the story is basically about the British girl, she comes down, she moves
everything, she makes the film."
Khan made a revelation about his forthcoming movie Thugs of
Hindostan by stating that the lead of the movie is Fatima Sana Shaikh. He revealed,
"Even in Thugs of Hindostan, the central role is the girl who is being played
by Fatima Sana Shaikh. The story of the film is about her."
Thugs of Hindostan is helmed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and
also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif in pivotal roles. The movie will
be releasing in Diwali 2018.
