Don, the adored 1978 film starring Amitabh Bachchan, was remade by Shah Rukh Khan and Farhan Akhtar. The film was released in 2006, and Don 2, its follow-up, followed in 2011. The public is excitedly anticipating Ranveer Singh's role in the third movie. The Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara actor revealed that, despite his initial commitment to give Hrithik Roshan a part in the film, King Khan ended up being chosen.
While shooting on Lakshya, Farhan Akhtar and Hrithik Roshan reportedly had a "wonderful time" and a "incredible" experience, according to a recent media talk. Later on, he informed Roshan that he was going to remake Don. In response, Hrithik told him that the idea was "amazing."
Farhan went on, saying that he would give it to Hrithik once he finished writing it, as he had promised. However, the actor said that as he was writing the part, Shah Rukh Khan was the first person that came to mind. He disclosed, "When I was writing, the only person whose face is popping into my head is Shah Rukh, from what I knew him," focusing on their time spent together at a party and with mutual friends in Delhi, rather than his "cinematic image".
The Bhaag Milkha Bhaag actor stated that he thought Shah Rukh would be the
"best actor" for the part because of his charm, wit, and sardonic,
self-deprecating sense of humour.
Hrithik has already received a commitment from Farhan for the film. Then he
remembered talking to Hrithik about why he decided on SRK for the film. "I'll
never forget, he said, ‘Farhan, you’ve to make your film, and in the best way
possible. If you think he's the guy, please go ahead and call him. Don't worry
about me.' That is a very gracious thing," he further revealed.
Interestingly, Hrithik played a
character played by Shah Rukh in the 2011 movie Don 2. Apart from Don, Hrithik
and Farhan have worked together in movies like Luck By Chance and Zindagi Na
Milegi Dobara.
Farhan Akhtar is ready to take the helm of Don 3, which will include Kiara Advani and Ranveer Singh in major roles.
