Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor and his wife Mira Kapoor are usually seen establishing lofty relationship goals through their unwavering support for each other. While Shahid has had a successful career with several hit films, Mira has previously expressed that she wished he had been in Ranbir Kapoor's Rockstar.
Mira Kapoor was asked during a rapid-fire round on Karan Johar's chat show
Koffee with Karan to choose a movie she wished Shahid Kapoor had filmed. She
responded without hesitation to the 2011 Hindi musical love drama Rockstar.
Imtiaz Ali earlier told a newspaper that Rockstar was nearly a film that never happened. The project lingered in the background for years, with the story circulating in close circles, but it never truly came together. That all changed when Ali met Ranbir Kapoor at a movie screening.
Ali approached Kapoor with a different script in mind, but Kapoor was intrigued to the story of Rockstar. So much so that he began eagerly repeating the narrative to Ali throughout their meeting. This unexpected turn of events convinced Ali that Kapoor was the best candidate for the position. When Ali asked whether he wanted to take on the film, Ranbir enthusiastically agreed. The interview concluded with Ali promising to return with the Rockstar script, sure that Ranbir was the right person to bring the story to life.
Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri have significant roles in Imtiaz Ali's film Rockstar, which also stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Piyush Mishra, Shernaz Patel, Kumud Mishra, and Shammi Kapoor. A. R. Rahman's soundtrack adds greatly to the film's appeal.
