Recently, Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Sharma began Roohi promotions in style.  She will be seen as the lead in a horror-comedy with Varun Sharma and Rajkummar Rao. The movie is going to be one of the biggest releases since the theatre shut down last year.

Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Sharma were clicked in the city as they headed to promote Roohi sans Rajkummar. In the pics, we can see Janhvi opting for a full-on glamorous look for the day. The Dhadak star is seen sporting a backless-halter neck black and white top with hot pink bell-bottoms. With it, she added a pair of heels. Her hair was tied up effortlessly in a ponytail and she looked stunning in a dolled-up avatar for promotions.

 

The Hindi version of Drishyam 2 is on the cards with Ajay Devgn and Tabu!

As per media updates, Kumar Mangat has acquired the rights for the Hindi remake of Drishyam 2 featuring Mohanlal. But, it wasn’t sure who would direct or act in the same. Previously, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Tabu, and others essayed the lead roles in Drishyam helmed by late Nishikant Kamat.

Now, as per latest media reports that it is Ajay Devgn and Tabu who will team up again for the movie’s sequel. This is sure to leave the fans thrilled.

In the meantime, Drishyam 2 in Malayalam was finally released on an OTT platform on February 19, 2021. Featuring Mohanlal as the main lead, the movie has been produced by Antony Perumbavoor and directed by Jeethu Joseph. Kumar Mangat has also disclosed that only a few modifications will be made for the Hindi version of Drishyam 2. A close media source disclosed that both Ajay and Tabu have given their nod to the script while the rest of the balance cast is yet to be decided.

Janhvi Kapoor opens up on the pressure of filmy family background!

Presently, Bollywood's newbie star Janhvi Kapoor is gearing up for the release of her forthcoming movie Roohi. It is directed by Hardik Mehta and apart from Janhvi, the movie also stars Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma in lead roles. As per recently released Roohi’s trailer, the horror-comedy will see Janhvi plays the character of a young woman being possessed by a ghost.

Now, in a media chat, Janhvi has talked about her character in Roohi, acceptance of horror comedy as a genre in India and the pressure of belonging from a Bollywood family. Speaking about the acceptance of the horror-comedy genre in India, the Dhadak star revealed the popularity of the genre is constantly growing. “It’s a wonderful genre, all the jump-scares as well as the comic-relief aspects,” she told. She further added, “It’s fun to play such an extreme character”.

Talking about the pressure she faces for her family's film lineage, the Dostana 2 star told she likes to look at it as an incredible blessing. When questioned if she feels extra pressure, Janhvi revealed, "There are a lot of comparisons and expectations but there’s also a lot of goodwill. There are some people who expect you to be as good as your mum was but there are other people that love your mother and father so much they’ll accept you right off the bat. There are two sides to every coin and you have to make of it what you can."

Thalapathy Vijay’s next film tentatively titled Thalapathy 65 will be helmed by Doctor director Nelson Dilipkumar. Recently, South superstar Thalapathy Vijay took the Box Office by storm after his movie Master hit the big screens. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Master was one of the movies that got a theatrical release soon after the lockdown restrictions were relaxed.

Now, a media report has come up stating that Thalapathy Vijay will be reuniting with Lokesh Kanagaraj yet again for a film after Thalapathy 65. As per a daily, the movie will be bankrolled by Lalit Kumar’s Seven Screen Studios. But, an official pronouncement regarding this development has not been made yet.

Late Sushant Singh Rajput honoured at Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival!

Recently, the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2021 were held in Mumbai on Saturday and late actor Sushant Singh Rajput was honoured with the Critics Choice Award at the ceremony. The Kedarnath actor, who was a part of several good movies including MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Chhichhore and more, passed away unfortunately at his house in Mumbai on June 14, 2020.

The Chhichhore star satrted his career from TV and rose to fame with the show, Pavitra Rishta with Ankita Lokhande. Sushant's death left everyone in a state of shock and his last film, Dil Bechara released after his demise. The late star was seen with debutante Sanjana Sanghi and Saif Ali Khan in the movie.

Pronouncing the honour, the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Instagram handle posted an image of the actor and the honour that he had been bestowed with posthumously. The handle wrote, "Celebrating the dedication you've shown on the way to this achievement. Congratulations to Late @sushantsinghrajput for winning the Critic's Best Actor award at Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2021. We miss you!"

Horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 will in theaters on November 19!

As per media reports, Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani and Tabu starrer horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has finally locked it's new release date and it is going to hit the screens on November 19, 2021. The movie starring Kiara, Kartik and Tabu in the lead is a sequel to Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan starrer that had released back in 2007.

Recently, the makers pronounced the new release date with the film poster and a photograph featuring Bhushan Kumar, Anees Bazmee, Kartik and Murad Khetani. Sharing the news, the handle wrote, "The edge-of-the seat comedy psychological thriller, #BhoolBhulaiyaa2 starring @TheAaryanKartik, #Tabu & @advani_kiara will release in theatres on 19th November 2021. Produced by #BhushanKumar, @MuradKhetani & #KrishanKumar under the banner of @TSeries & @Cine1Studios. The film is directed by @BazmeeAnees & written by @farhad_samji & #AakashKaushik."

Meanwhile, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is helmed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani. Initially, it was slated to release on July 31, 2020. However, due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the shooting was stalled and the release date had to be changed. Now, the cast and crew are all set to kick off the shoot again and bring the film to theatres on November 19, 2021.

Presently, Bollywood stars Kriti Sanon and Akshay Kumar were shooting in Jaisalmer for Bachchan Pandey over the past month. Now, Kriti has pronounced a schedule wrap for her with an unseen still from the movie with Akshay's character.

On her social media handle, Kriti wrote a note for the cast and crew with whom she shot for the movie and posted an unseen photograph with her co-star and megastar Akshay Kumar, in his Bachchan Pandey avatar. Taapsee Pannu to begin shoot for Anurag Kashyap’s sci fi thriller Dobaaraa!

Earlier, Anurag Kashyap had pronounced that he will be reuniting with his Manmarziyaan actress Taapsee Pannu for a sci-fi thriller.

Recently, Anurag and Taapsee had posted a video pronouncing their association for the next film Dobaaraa. Now, the twosome have begun shooting and Taapsee took to Instagram to share a goofy on set photograph. In the photograph, Taapsee can be seen wearing a mint green outfit, similar to hospital staff uniforms. With her hair tied in a pony and sports shoes, the actress for sure looks smart. Anurag can be seen sitting on her lap as he strikes a pose while donning his mask. Sharing the photo, Taapsee posted, "My #DobaaraaSeries Coz some collaborations deserve to be repeated... Taapsee Pannu’s Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan? With Pratik Gandhi!

Recently, Taapsee Pannu is prepping up for her upcoming movie Shabaash Mithu. Now, she has teamed up with Scam 1992 breakout actor Pratik Gandhi for a new movie. The title of the movie is Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan? and it will be released under Siddharth Roy Kapur’s production. The investigative comedy will be directed by writer Arshad Syed. This forthcoming film will be Arshad’s directorial debut.

The movie set in central India will see Taapsee Pannu essaying the role of a gutsy cop while Pratik will be playing the role of a chauvinistic brat. Their personalities will clash when they are going to take an unlikely journey together in the movie.

In the meantime, director Arshad Syed is zeroing in on the rest of the cast. The project might go on floors by the year-end.

Brahmastra 2 is under development with new character DEV!

Finally, the Brahmastra shoot is nearing its accomplishment. The Ayan Mukerji directed action fantasy adventure features Ranbir Kapoor as Shiva, Alia Bhatt as Isha, with Amitabh Bachchan as the Guru, Nagarjuna as an archaeologist and Shah Rukh Khan in a cameo appearance playing the role of a scientist. Hyped to be the biggest Bollywood movie, the makers have already confirmed a Brahmastra trilogy.

Apart from working on Brahmastra, Ayan has also worked on the script of its sequel Brahmastra in the lockdown with the vision to ensure that it goes on the floors without much interruption. As per media updates that Karan Johar (producer), Ayan and co are planning to introduce another character for Brahmastra 2, a glimpse of which might be given in the end credit of first part. “Brahmastra is the journey of Shiva, while part two will be about another character, Dev, who is also blessed with unique superpowers. The makers are looking to cast an actor from the top bracket for the sequel as well, in-fact, they have already begun conversations with some A-List superstars,” the source revealed.

“Shiva and Isha too will be a part of part two, since the world of Brahmastra will always be incomplete without the pioneers of the franchise, but the script has got more to do with Dev’s character. All the principal characters then come together for the final showdown in third instalment.”

The idea of this franchise is to root the characters in the modern world deep down in the Indian mythology, and a glimpse at two lead character names – Shiva and Dev - gives away the intent of the makers. The trilogy is about the fight to conquer the most powerful weapon of the universe, Brahmastra, that’s split in three parts, hidden in different parts of the world.

Brahmastra is expected to release in the last quarter of 2021.

Vijay Sethupathi reveals the reason behind quitting Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha!

Earlier, the conjectures about Vijay Sethupathi is a part of Aamir Khan's much-waited movie, Laal Singh Chaddha have been doing rounds since a very long time. Now, film Master star Sethupathi confirmed that he has quit Aamir Khan's film, which is a Hindi remake of Hollywood flick, Forrest Gump. He was roped in to essay the role of Aamir Khan's friend in the movie. But, things didn't work out and Vijay decided to quit the film.

Amid all this, Conjectures were doing rounds that Vijay Sethupathi had to back out due to his weight. Rumours were doing rounds that the actor was supposed to be in a shape for the movie but he failed to do so and this had left Aamir Khan annoyed. Vijay Sethupathi has now condemned the reports stating weight was never an issue but he opted out of the film due to other work commitments. In the meantime, the makers are still in search of Vijay Sethupathi's replacement. Laal Singh Chaddha is directed by director Advait Chandan.

As we all know that Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Nagarjuna Akkineni starrer Brahmastra’s schedule of shooting is almost nearing its end. Recently, Nagarjuna accomplished his portions of the film and he penned a note as his shoot journey with Alia and Ranbir came to an end.

Naga Chaitanya’s apprehension about exploring OTT platform!

The OTT has helped several filmmakers and actors to explore more content that they couldn't on the big screen. OTT made actors experiment with roles along with much freedom. Lately, while talking to Pitta Kathalu's Ramula director Tharun Bhascker, Telugu star Naga Chaitanya opened up on how he always wanted to express certain things but was scared to try it on the big screen.

Recently, Pitta Kathalu's Ramula director Tharun Bhascker asked Naga Chaitanya if as an actor would he be insecure to come in a 15-minute content on OTT, YouTube or any other platform. To this Naga responded, "I always wanted to try different things...there are so many things in my mind that I want to express but I'm always scared on screen because we are so used to of this format and there are so many permutations and combinations to it, will it work out or not work out. But you know there is so much more creative freedom when you don't have those rules and that's what you are doing right now. So, I'm definitely curious and want to attempt that too and somewhere we need to start balancing it out."

On the film front, Naga Chaitanya will be seen in Shekar Kumula's Love Story, co-starring Sai Pallavi. The romantic drama is set to hit the screens on April 16.

Janhvi Kapoor’s scary Bhootiya’ bride in Roohi Trailer!

As per reports, Rajkummar Rao, Varun Sharma and Janhvi Kapoor starrer horror-comedy Roohi will be released in theatres on March 11. Now, the makers have dropped the trailer of the film today. Helmed by Hardik Mehta, the film will be released on the big screen on March 11, 2021.

Recently, Janhvi Kapoor has taken to his Instagram handle to share the trailer of the film and also added a little note with it which read as, “Iss baar mard ko jyada dard hoga! #RoohiTrailer out now. #Roohi in cinemas 11th March, 2021."

The trailer reveals spooky Janhvi, who is possessed by a ghost, scaring Rajkummar and Varun. Later, the duo faces difficulty to tackle the ghost. Earlier, taking to Instagram handle, the actor had announced the release date of the film. He posted, "Dulhan ki tarah sajenge Theatres. Magar Dulha le jaegi #Roohi! Iss Bhootiya Shaadi mein aapka swagat hai! #MagicOfCinemaReturns; movie releases 11th March."

Since Shruti and he share a common interest in music, do we get to see them unite on a project in the future? “Yes, I think it is only organic that we’ll come up with something which is a combination of my aesthetics and her direction or style. We have a similar taste, so there are chances of something coming up in the future,” he ended conversation on a promising note.

The lovebirds Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are one of the most popular couples in Bollywood. The conjectures are abuzz about Ranbir and Alia tying the knot soon. Amid all this, it is also revealed that the lovebirds are busy making a new abode for themselves in the city.

Recently, Ranbir and Alia were spotted at the location as they arrived to take a look at the ongoing construction. In the photos, the Sadak 2 star wore a white shirt which she had paired with black shorts and black sneakers. On the other side, Ranbir looked charming in his casuals as he wore a light colour shirt which he had paired with blue coloured checkered shirts, cargo and white sneakers. Fascinatingly, Ranbir’s mother Neetu Kapoor had also arrived to inspect the construction site along with the alleged couples.
