Earlier, John Abraham acquired the Hindi remake rights of the Malayalam hit, Ayyappanum Koshiyum and pronounced that he would be producing the movie in Hindi once the on ground Covid scenario gets better. The original Ayyappanum Koshiyum movie featured Prithviraj and Biju Menon in the lead.
As per media reports, almost after Dostana, now John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan reunite again for Almost 13 years after Dostana, it's finally a reunion for John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan.
“John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan have been trying to collaborate on a film again ever since the release of Dostana. However, nothing really materialized. Ayyappanum Koshiyum is finally a quintessential two hero film that does justice to their persona and gives equal standing to both John and Abhishek. They have started a conversation on the film and the paperwork should be done soon,” disclosed a source close to the development.
About the 2020’s original film, Ayyappanum Koshiyum was appreciated by the critics and audience alike for the portrayal of the ego battle between the two leads and the manner it impacts the lives of even the ones in surrounding. The story rotates around the conflict between Koshy Kurien (Prithviraj), an influential and wealthy ex-Havildar and Ayyappan Nair (Biju Menon), a Sub-inspector in Attappadi.
