Now, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been nominated for the Padma
Bhushan Award. Mahendra Singh Dhoni who has already been conferred with Arjuna,
Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna and the Padma Shri award has been unanimously
recommended by the members of the BCCI.
Cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been nominated by the
BCCI for the Padma Bhushan award. It was a unanimous decision by the members. He
has been one of the greatest names in contemporary cricket and the most
appropriate choice of the Indian cricket board," BCCI acting president CK
Khanna told a news agency.
“He is one of our greatest ODI cricketer with nearly 10,000
runs in ODIs. Not many players have played 90 Test matches. There is no one
better than him, who could have been nominated," Khanna told a news
agency.
If M.S. Dhoni is awarded the prestigious Padma Bhushan, he
will be the 11th Indian cricketer to receive the third highest civilian honour.
Dhoni is the only Indian captain in the history who has successfully captained
the Indian cricket team and won two world cup titles; 2011 International World
Cup and 2007 World T20 World Cup.
M.S. Dhoni is known as the captain with the cool head. He
has more than 10,000 runs from 380 matches that he has played in One Day Internationals
and T20s. M.S. Dhoni has also scored approximately 5000 runs by playing 90
International Cricket Test matches.
