Sometimes it’s money, sometimes dates, sometimes something else, says Saif on opting out of Mr. Chalu!

Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan, who has his plate full with a host of movies, some nearing its release and some gearing up for its shoot, was supposed to do Reema Kagti's thriller movie Mr. Chalu.

Rumors of Saif having signed the movie surfaced back in 2014. Not just the actor but names of the leading ladies being considered for the movie also grabbed headlines. Actresses like Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut among others were being linked to the project. But, no official pronouncement happened.

A few months after that, conjectures of Fawad Khan being signed for the movie made rounds as Saif Ali Khan had opted out. But, director Reema Kagti wasn't willing to go ahead with the film without Saif. Post those reports, there was nothing about the movie or Saif being reported. Until recently, when the news of Saif having walked out of the movie surfaced on the web.

When a famous tabloid, got in touch with Saif to know what's the truth, he revealed, "Mr Chalu just didn’t work out. Sometimes it’s money, sometimes dates, sometimes something else. I feel it’s not decent to discuss the private and financial dealings with a producer in public."

He further added, "I loved that script and would have loved to do it!"

In the meantime, Reema Kagti is now shooting for her next movie Gold, with Akshay Kumar, in London. Whereas, Saif Ali Khan is gearing up for the release of his next movie Chef. He also has Baazaar in his kitty along with Kaalakandi that comes out on September 8.
