Saif Ali Khan is all set to star in Netflix's forthcoming
original series titled Sacred Games. The show is based on the
critically-acclaimed best-selling novel by Indian author Vikram Chandra.
Saif will be essaying the character of Sartaj Singh. Set in
Mumbai, Sacred Games delves into the city’s intricate web of organized crime,
corruption, politics and espionage that lie beneath India’s economic
renaissance. It is an epic masterwork of exceptional richness and power that
interweaves the lives of the privileged, the famous, the wretched and the
bloodthirsty.
Ask him why he decided to endeavor into a digital space? Speaking
to a famous daily, "I think web content is really powerful and that's
where we all need to be. Television has a lot of restrictions. Web content, on
the other hand, is devoid of any kind of censorship. It's a free
environment."
He went on to add, "I am excited about the quality and
content of our show. The book was fantastic and I hope we can do justice to it.
