Filmamker Farhan Akhtar and wife Adhuna Bhabani pronounced
their separation in January this year. The duo has been staying separately
since then. While Farhan and Adhuna applied for the divorce on October 19,
the two were spotted at the Family Court on Tuesday, as they attended the
counselling session.
According to a famous magazine, the former pair reached the
court on Tuesday afternoon for the counselling session, which was
conducted by Family Court's Principal Judge I. J. Nanda. At the session, Farhan
and Adhuna were asked the basic details of the petition and then were given the
mandatory six months waiting period, before being granted the divorce.
Farhan and Adhuna, who got wedded in 2000, are blessed with
two daughters - Akira and Shakya, haven't made any allegations in their
petition and want it to be a one-time full and final settlement. The tabloid
reports that the bungalow which is owned by both Farhan and Adhuna, will be now
owned by the latter. She will get a one-time alimony and Farhan will also
invest substantial money in securing his daughter's future. Adhuna will have
the kids' custody whereas Farhan will have an unrestricted access to meet them.
Now the case would next be heard on April 24 and
if all goes well, then the divorce will also get granted on the same day!
