Bollywood celebrities praise our PM’s move of banning on Rs 500 & 1000 notes!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday took the decision to ban Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes as a "historic step" to fight corruption and black money that would also block funds for arms smuggling, espionage and terrorists.

In an unexpected, TV address to the nation in the evening, the Prime Minister told: "India has taken a historic step to fight corruption, black money, terrorism and counterfeit currency."

"This historic step will open up new opportunities for the poor, neo middle class, and middle class," he told. Many Bollywood celebrities admired Modi for this move.

"This is truly a masterstroke move!!!! @narendramodi hits it out of the stadium!!!!", tweeted Karan Johar.

"We stole your thunder USA! Well played Mr Modi... successfully turning black into white in one smooth move" tweeted Aditi Rao Hydari.

"India #Modified. Jai ho. Pranaam @narendramodi ji #BlackMoney #Rs500Rs1000" tweeted Suchitra Krishnamurthy.
