SRK's lesser known mini-series turned movie Ahamaq will be screened at the forthcoming Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival in Mumbai.

The movie directed by filmmaker Mani Kaul was first released as a four part TV mini-series on Doordarshan in 1991, before being screened at the New York Film Festival in 1992. Ahamaq, but, was never commercially released.

The movie will have a screening at the Jio MAMI 18th Mumbai Film Festival in the freshly introduced programme 'The New Medium'. The segment will be curated by artist Shaina Anand.

'Ahamaq' was based on Fyodor Dostoevsky's novel The Idiot. The unedited mini-series will be presented back to back as a four-hour movie.

An enthusiastic SRK took to Twitter to share the news:
“‘Ahmaq’ being screened @Mumbaifilmfest so please register with http://www.bookmyshow.com/MAMI  my first foray into cinema.”

Key original members of the cast and crew of Ahamaq would be present at the screening to discuss about the movie and their experiences while making it. These include actress Mita Vasisht and cinematographer Piyush Shah amongst others. The movie will be accompanied by a live score performed by the Vitaly Tkachuk Quartet joining from Ukraine. 'The New Medium' section will open with the restored version of Dziga Vertov's 1929 classic, Man with the Film Camera.
