Ex Indian skipper Virender Sehwag celebrated his birthday
yesterday. The timeline of Twitter King was swamped with messages from his admirers
and colleagues around the world.
Nowadays, the present trend is of biopics being made on
sports stars. With the newest movie M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story breaking all
the records at the box-office, a famous daily asked Sehwag if he goes the
biopic way, to which he told, "Let's see. Shayad koi mujh par bhi paisa
laga de. I hope someone, somewhere, someday will invest in my biopic
also."
He disclosed that he hasn't seen the film yet. Viru as he is
fondly called further added, "My sons were very excited to see the film so
they went for the first day, first show. Since I was doing commentary on that
day, I couldn’t make it. I’ll watch it soon and put something on Twitter and
get everybody talking again."
Furthermore, he was asked about the documentary film made on
legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, to which he told, "Not just me,
everyone is looking forward to it. People want to know more about Sachin’s
journey in cricket, his life and what he went through when not playing in the
team."
Whenever we watch a biopic, we expect some light on the
controversial life of the person. When Sehwag was asked whether a film on
sportsperson's life only about controversies and not their known professional
achievements. He further added, "The script is read and approved by the
cricketer, and one can choose to show only controversies or personal
relationship with friends or wives or girlfriends. Tomorrow if a film is made
on me, I will decide what I want to show to the public on the big screen."
Speaking about, the way he celebrates his birthday, Viru said,
"I don’t like to party. I like to spend time with family on my
birthday." He shared a fond memory telling, "Till the day I didn’t
play under-19 World Cup, nobody ever celebrated my birthday. And the moment I
played for the Indian team, my family got excited and ordered and cut a cake
for me in front of 40-50 family members."
