Sushant Singh Rajput has been signed for yet another biopic
before his movie on Indian cricket team captain M. S Dhoni has even hit the
silver screen. The actor will be seen essaying the role of Paralympic gold medallist
Murlikant Petkar.
The movie which is tentatively titled Murli - The Unsung
Hero will be scripted by the movie journalist turned scriptwriter Prashant
Singh. The writer also disclosed that it was Petkar who suggested him to rope
in Sushant since Murlikant is a huge fan of the actor. Sushant who is equally thrilled
about this journey gave a nod to this project because he thinks the movie will
be an inspiration to many. For the uninitiated, from EME jawan of the Indian
National Army to a boxer to a Paralympic winner, the journey of Murlikant has
been filled with several stories of courage. He was once also shot by seven
bullets during the 1965 war against Pakistan and he survived the injuries. But,
a bullet which is still stuck in his spine made him paraplegic and yet,
Murlikant did not give up and went on to win a gold medal at Paralympics.
Murli - The Unsung Hero is said to be presented by Shekhar
Kapur and is slated to go on floor in mid-2017.
