Sarkar Shoot: Abhishek's Shocking Big B Confession!

Abhishek Bachchan's Chilling Confession: Why 'Sarkar' Test Shoot Left Him 'Destroyed' by Big B!

Mumbai, India
: In a candid and insightful revelation, actor Abhishek Bachchan has shed light on a pivotal, albeit "destroying," moment in his career that occurred during the test shoot for Ram Gopal Varma's critically acclaimed film, 'Sarkar' (2005). The incident, directly related to his legendary father, Amitabh Bachchan, highlights the immense pressure and the unique challenges of being a star kid in Bollywood.

While 'Sarkar' went on to become a landmark film for both father and son, showcasing their intense on-screen dynamic, the journey to achieving that chemistry wasn't without its early anxieties for Abhishek.

The Chilling Revelation: Why Abhishek Felt "Destroyed"

Abhishek Bachchan recently recounted the initial test shoot for 'Sarkar,' a scene involving himself and his father. Despite being an established actor by then, the sheer presence and professionalism of Amitabh Bachchan left a profound impact.

"When we did the test shoot for Sarkar, there was a scene that was very emotional and dramatic," Abhishek explained. "And after that, Ramu (Ram Gopal Varma) just pulled me aside and said, 'You just got destroyed. You just got annihilated by your father.'"

This blunt assessment, though harsh, served as a stark wake-up call for Abhishek. He clarified that the "destruction" wasn't personal but a realization of the sheer gulf in their performance levels at that moment. His father's effortless command over the scene, his raw intensity, and his experience simply overshadowed Abhishek's portrayal, making him acutely aware of the standards he needed to meet.

The Pressure of the Legacy: Growing Up Amitabh Bachchan's Son

Abhishek has often spoken about the unique pressures of being Amitabh Bachchan's son. While the Bachchan name opened doors, it also set an incredibly high benchmark. Every performance, every career choice, was (and still is) often measured against the colossal legacy of his father. This 'Sarkar' incident was a visceral reminder of that towering presence.

He elaborated that despite having done 15-odd films by then, sharing the screen with his father at that level was a different ball game. "It’s not just the acting; it’s the aura, the experience, the command he has over his craft," Abhishek acknowledged.

Learning and Evolving: The Impact of 'Sarkar'

Despite the initial blow to his confidence, the 'Sarkar' experience ultimately proved to be a turning point for Abhishek. It pushed him to elevate his game, to observe and learn from his father's mastery. The film eventually showcased a powerful synergy between the two actors, with Abhishek's portrayal of Shankar Nagre earning him critical acclaim and solidifying his position as a formidable performer.

'Sarkar' remains a significant film in Abhishek Bachchan's filmography, not just for its success but also for the invaluable lessons it imparted. It was a challenging, yet transformative, experience that sharpened his acting skills and helped him find his own space even within the shadow of a legendary parent.

This candid admission from Abhishek Bachchan offers a rare glimpse into the internal struggles and immense drive required to carve a distinct identity in Bollywood, especially when your surname carries such an iconic weight.

Stay tuned for more insights from Abhishek Bachchan and other Bollywood stars!

Karan Johar’s gratitude to Ram Gopal Varma for handover the title Bhoot!

As we know, a new horror film as Vicky Kaushal starrer Bhoot: Part One- The Haunted Ship is making headlines. The pronouncement of the movie was made this morning and it will also star Bhumi Pednekar in a special cameo. But, the title of the movie is the same as Ram Gopal Varman’s 2001 movie, Bhoot which starred Urmila Matondkar and Ajay Devgn. Thus, before using the title, producer Karan Johar sought approval from Ram Gopal Varma.

While the poster and concept of the movie are different, it is in the same genre of horror as RGV’s movie. When the movie’s concept came to Karan, he was keen on having Bhoot as the title of the movie. Hence, he reached out to RGV and asked him if he could use the title for his horror franchise. Well, the ace filmmaker politely agreed and eventually the movie was titled Bhoot: Part One-The Haunted Ship.

To express gratitude for Ram Gopal Varma, Karan Johar told, “I made an unreasonable request to Ramu, asking him for his franchise title BHOOT and he graciously and magnanimously agreed to give it to us without even blinking an eyelid. All of us at Dharma are blown away by his generosity and are eternally grateful to him. We aspire to make sure the title is in the right hands of horror.”

Namrata Dutt lashed out at RGV for Sanju The Real Story!

Namrata Dutt, Sanjay Dutt

Veteran star Sanjay Dutt's life was documented on screen in Rajkumar Hirani's Sanju. In the film, Ranbir Kapoor stepped into the shoes of Dutt and took us on the debatable actor's journey. But, numerous criticized that the movie was made for whitewashing Dutt's image in front of the public eye.

Ram Gopal Varma, who has worked with Sanjay in two movies, was glad about the film but was also saddened by the fact that Sanjay's involvement in the 1993 Mumbai blasts was not dealt with in depth.

When a daily spoke to Sanjay's sister Namrata Dutt about Varma's film, she lashed out at RGV and questioned, "Doesn't Varma need Sanjay's approval to make it? If Sanjay gives a go-ahead, we are nobody to say no to him."

"His (Ram Gopal Varma) stories are dark. Why do you want to go on and on about Sanjay's life? Why is he putting us through so much pain again?" Namrata specified.

Speaking further about Sanju and how painful it was to watch and relive the memories, Namrata revealed, "We have been through every phase of what Sanjay has gone through. When he became a drug addict, we at least knew that we couple help him out by sending him to rehab. But we had no control over the other incident (going to jail). It was painful and as we helplessly watched him suffer."

Ram Gopal Varma quits twitter for doing something interesting!

Ram Gopal Varma took the internet by storm after the filmmaker pronounced his exit from Twitter. The news did come as a surprise to many - given that Ramu was quite popular and active on Twitter.

Speaking to a famous daily, Ram Gopal Varma told, “Trollers and controversies never bothered me and they are not the reason why I decided to quit Twitter. I had better reasons to quit.”

He further explained by saying, “For starters, I was living only in the twitter world. I just wanted to change my world and that can only happen if I completely isolate myself.”

Ram Gopal Varma also went on to say that he has now found other things more interesting than Twitter. “I will be more active on the social media than I was on Twitter but in a very serious way, whether its films or web series or short films. Instead of tweets, I want to communicate through pictures and videos on Instagram.”

When questioned if he has any regrets about his numerous controversial tweets, he told, “None at all, except when I picked Tiger Shroff for no reason. I regret that. But what’s done is done. I now look forward to making my web series Guns & Thighs. The digital world is a direct connection between filmmaker and viewers. Unlike a tweet which can be misconstrued or carelessly put, even a short film, due to an elaborate creative process involved will put it out more effectively than a hastily written tweet.”

I will make biopic on Bruce Lee, says Ram Gopal Varma!

After newsflash that Shekhar Kapur will co-produce and direct an authorized biopic of Bruce Lee, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has told he will make a movie too due to his "obsessive fascination" with the martial arts legend and actor.

Varma also told he will release it at the same time as Kapur's film titled "Little Dragon".

Varma posted on Monday, "Just because of my devotional worship of Bruce Lee I am going to make his biopic and release it at the same time as Shekar Kapur's authorized one."

The filmmaker tells he has nothing against Kapur, whom he admires enormously.

"I have nothing against Shekhar Kapur who I admire immensely but it's just my obsessive fascination for Bruce Lee," Varma further added.

He also shared a link to his article titled "Bruce Lee is the one and only who I loved more than sex", posted on his Facebook page.

Varma feels he can do justice to Lee's biopic.

"In spite of the closeness of family and brilliance of Shekhar Kapur, I believe only I can do justice to his biopic," he posted.

Varma claims he knows "tremendously more" about Bruce Lee than his daughter Shannon Lee, his wife Linda Lee and Kapur.

In the meantime, "Little Dragon" will be a contemporary dramatization of the 1950s Hong Kong social and political forces that shaped Bruce Lee into the most famous martial arts star and a significant modern day philosopher, reported variety.com on Monday.

Amit Sadh is a new enemy of Sarkar Amitabh Bachchan!

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is back with Sarkar 3 and this time Amitabh Bachchan is angrier than ever. Apart from Amitabh, Sarkar 3 has an ensemble cast which includes Amit Sadh, Yami Gautam, Manoj Bajpayee, Jackie Shroff and Ronit Roy in the lead roles. RGV, recently, shared the new trailer for the movie and in this, we get to see more of Amit Sadh and Yami Gautam.

Going by the footages of the trailer, we assume that Subhash Nagre's grandson is all set to destroy his sarkar. Amit Sadh is in love with Yami Gautam who is against Sarkar as he killed her father. Jackie Shroff is also seen in his bond avatar. Yami has moved out of her comfort zone and will be seen doing some action-packed scenes.

At the trailer launch, RGV was asked about the non-objection certificate which he was asked to get it from the Thackeray family. He told, "They (CBFC) have some kind of a regulation, I believe. If they have a reason to believe that this could be based on a real life character, just a safety measure to get a disclaimer, nothing beyond that."

The first trailer of Sarkar 3 was indeed a roller-coaster ride and Big B just nailed his character. At the trailer launch, Ram Gopal Varma surprisingly revealed that except for the hit Sarkar, he regrets all the other movies he has made which stars Amitabh in it. He said, "Expect of Sarkar, I regret all the films. Many directors including me have taken him for granted, I regret almost every character."

Amitabh and RGV have worked in numerous other movies together which include Nishabd and Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag.

Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, Sarkar 3 is scheduled to release on April 7, 2017.

Sridevi is really a miracle as per RGV!

Ram Gopal Varma often makes deprecating comments about others on his social networking handle. Ealier, during the release of his book Guns and Thighs, RGV had told that the name of the book was derived from Amitabh Bachchan’s gun from Deewar and Sridevi's thighs in Himmatwala.

This time, RGV has again targeted Sridevi, but on a nicer note. The filmmaker shared a childhood picture of the actress and posted, "Who could have imagined this little girl will become the biggest super star ever of Indian Screen.. @SrideviBKapoor is truly a miracle."

On the film front, RGV is gearing up for the release of his forthcoming dirctorial Sarkar 3. The film features superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Manoj Bajpayee, Amit Sadh and Yami Gautam.

Ram Gopal Varma’s “Incompetent” remark for Chiranjeevi's brother!

Responding strongly to remarks made by superstar Chiranjeevi's brother Nagababu at an event, individualist filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has called him "incompetent".

In a series of tweets, Varma clarified how Nagababu was liable for the loss of Chiranjeevi's party Prajarajyam.

"The whole state knows what kind of wrong advise you gave your great brother for Prajarajyam and made him lose. Before advising me what to do, please question yourself what kind of great career you have had in your entire life," Varma posted on Saturday.

"You don't have 0.1 per cent of greatness of your brother and that's why your great brother doesn't make meaningless noises like you. Because you don't understand English, please ask some educated friend to translate my tweets in Telugu," Verma posted.

Varma requested Chiranjeevi to not take his brother along for any events in the future.
"I know he is your brother and you love him, but in future please don't take him to such prestigious events as he will spoil them," he further added.

The "Rakht Charitra" director reacted after Nagababu at the pre-release event of Chiranjeevi's upcoming Telugu outing "Khaidi No 150" on Saturday spoke against Verma.

In his speech, Nagababu asked Varma's comments about Chiranjeevi and his movie "Khaidi No 150".

"There's this gentleman who is passing unwanted comments about my brother and his film. He used to make great films once but not anymore. He should focus on making good films instead of wasting time on commenting about my brother," Nagababu told.

He went on to say that Varma is using Chiranjeevi's fame to earn personal mileage.

Ram Gopal Varma applauses Aamir's act in Dangal over Salman and SRK’s films!

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who is always in news for his debatable tweets, has again made headlines. And this time, he has openly attacked The Khans of Bollywood. Recently, RGV saw Aamir Khan's Dangal and took to Twitter and went on praising Aamir Khan.

But, with that, Ram Gopal Varma took a potshot at Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in a series of tweets.

Taking to his Twitter page, Varma shared, ''Just saw Dangal n zapped with Aamir's belief in Indian audience's intelligence that they can make such a niche idea into such a massive film. Super stars never grew up beyond wanting to look forever young n wanting to show 6 packs even after 50 n then comes fucking Aamir in Dangal. Want to touch Aamir's feet for his ever growing sincerity which was always there but it impossibly seems to be growing taller and taller. Other Khan's presuppose the audience to be dumb which I too think they are but Aamir respects n caters to their intelligence hidden behind. Aamir khan's films force the world to take India seriously and the other Khan's films make India look like a Choo***ya regressive country. Which Star of Bollywood since Alam Ara would have taken a decision of putting on weight to look like a father of grown up daughters? Seeing Dangal I feel all us in entire industry including other Khans should learn gymnastic martial arts and kick ourselves on our asses.''

By the way, RGV and Aamir worked only in Rangeela before they had a tiff after Varma allegedly insulted Aamir's acting skills.

Let’s check RGV’s twitter account and guess about his intentions.

Know about Sarkar 3’s star cast and name of characters revealed by RGV!

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who directed the hit franchise of Sarkar, is back with the third part of the movie. Titled Sarkar 3, Ram Gopal Varma took it to Twitter and disclosed the cast of the movie.

Amitabh Bachchan will be seen reviving his role of Subhash Nagre in the Godfatheresque movie. Big B's role in Sarkar franchise is considered as one of the strongest roles in the actor's career.

Manoj Bajpayee will essay the role of Govind Deshpande and RGV explained his character, "Loosely based on a very cranky and slightly violent version of Kejriwal" That's hilarious!

Beautiful actress Yami Gautam is the female lead of the movie. She will be seen as Annu Karkare, who is set to take revenge on Sarkar for killing her father.

Ronit Roy is set to essay Sarkar's right hand as he will be seen donning the character of Gokul Satam.

Amit Sadh of Sultan fame will be essaying the role of a highly arrogant and hot-blooded character named Shivaji aka Cheeku in the movie.

Jackie Shroff will be donning a negative character who is mentioned to as Sir in the movie.

Other actors roped by the Company director are Rohini Hattangadi and Bharat Dabholkar. RGV made it clear that Abhishek Bachchan, who was part of both the movies and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who was the female lead in Sarkar Raj will not be seen in the third part. RGV tweeted by telling, "Both Abhishek and Aishwarya are not there in Sarkar 3 as this story is set in another time and another situation"

Wait and watch for more updates on the same.

Is RGV getting threats by underworld?

Ram Gopal Varma, who is known for his fondness for films based on underworld figures, is gearing up to make a biopic on Mohammed Nayeemuddin, a former Naxalite wanted in over 100 criminal cases including the sensational killing of IPS officer K. S. Vyas in broad daylight at the LB Stadium.

But, it now seems that Vamra's decision to make a movie on this personality might land him in the crosshairs of the Mafia. It seems that Varma is receiving threats from Nayeem's associates and taking to his Twitter page, the filmmaker posted, ''Am getting threatening calls from Nayeem's group… but they need to understand that I am Nayeemon ka Nayeem.''

RGV's helping hand to Katrina Kaif over Smita Patil Award controversy!

Ever since it was pronounced that actress Katrina Kaif will be honoured with the Smita Patil memorial award, people have been going all out to poke fun at Katrina and posting bad comments about her on social media.

Nonconformist filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma also had to say something about this event, but what he said took us by surprise completely! Taking to his Twitter page, Varma posted, ''For all the hue n cry people making on Katrina getting Smita Patil award,I think Smita Patil herself wud have felt honoured to be compared. Smita Patil was from everything to everything but Katrina rose from Nothing to Everything which I think is a far far bigger achievement. Smita Patil came from an already built foundation of theatre and voice experience training so it's no surprise she shined on the screen. Katrina came in with no voice, no acting, no dancing ability and then kept on shocking everybody with her ever continuous meteoric rise. Difference btwn Smita Patil and Katrina is trained mountain climber conquering Everest nd who can't walk properly doing it .My case rests. 98.5 % people hating Katrina getting Smita Patil award are just jealous of her success and other1.5% don't know what they are talking about.''

Ram Gopal Varma's advice to aspiring directors!

Eccentric filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who doesn't have a verbal filter, is known for upsetting people with his blunt attitude and this time, it seems Subhash Ghai might join the list of varma haters.

Ramu, who is a big fan of Amitabh Bachchan, took to Twitter to write, ''Great actors love acting but @SrBachchan lusts acting..that's what's greater than great becos anyone can fake love but no one can fake lust. Any aspiring director instead of wasting time and money on pune, whistling wood institutes etc shud only study @SrBachchan 's graph. Longest in career and hardest in intensity of performances…That's what is Bachchan."

Ram Gopal Varma divulges details of his next film on Mohammed Nayeemuddin!

We had informed earlier that Ram Gopal Varma is planning to make a movie on the life of Mohammed Nayeemuddin, a Naxalite-turned-gangster, who was shot dead in a police operation this year and the filmmaker, known for making crime movies, took to his Twitter page to share details about the project.

Ramu told, ''Am going to make a 3 part film on the Nayeem story ..Rakthacharitra had only two parts..Nayeem will have 3 parts. Nayeemuddin's story is so complex and with so much of content that it's impossible to justify it by telling it in only one feature film. Nayeemuddin's transformation from a Naxalite to a police informant to a underworld gangster to become an all-time Criminal no.1 is scary. Just gathered entire information on Nayeemuddin from multiple sources..His crimes over the years are full of truly hair rising details.''

After Shobhaa De, Ram Gopal Varma's remarks over India's Olympic performance!

Writer Shobhaa De learned the hard way that it doesn't pay to mess with emotions of Indians, particularly when it comes to sports, when she made an unpleasant tweet about the performance of Indian athletes at the Rio Olympics, but it seems that eccentric filmmaker Ram Gopal Varmais hell-bent on rubbing people the wrong way.

Taking to his Twitter page, Ramu posted, ''If for one silver we are jumping up and down screaming Mera Bharat Mahan. how high should be Americans jumping for 46 gold and 37 silver. A 32 crore population US wins 46 gold and a 5 crore population South Korea wins 9 gold nd a 120 crores population india wins 1 silver..Wah! Combined value of 46 gold 38 silver 49 bronze compared to just 1 silver is that many times more Unka US Mahan compared to Apna Bharat Mahan. If for 1 silver we call ourselves incredible india what should US call itself for 46 gold 37 silver and 49 bronze..just asking? If for just 1 silver we call ourselves incredible india I wonder what we will call ourselves if we ever win 46 gold 37 silver and 49 bronze?''

Big B in film but Abhishek and Aishwarya will be no more in Sarkar 3, reveals Ram Gopal Varma!

In 2005, Ram Gopal Varma helmed Sarkar starring Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Kay Kay Menon which was greeted well by the critics and the viewers. The actors won accolades for their inspiring performances and Abhishek won several awards that year. The sequel Sarkar Raj which released in 2008 had a decent run and also starred Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

After eight years, Ram Gopal Varma has announced the third installment titled Sarkar 3 and will release the first look of the forthcoming movie on August 26. He also confirmed that Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan won't be featured in the third installment. He posted, "Sarkar 3 first look will be launched on 26th August. Going by the story both Abhishek and Aishwarya will not be featuring in this segment. Scale of Sarkar 3 will be much larger and intense than the earlier two. Rest of the cast details will be soon announced."

Though RGV didn't announce whether the lead role will be reprised by Amitabh Bachchan or not, a report in a leading daily confirmed the actor and filmmaker will be reuniting for this movie.

The plot of Sarkar 3 won't have any antagonist. There will be larger than life characters dealing with Sarkar traditions and dramatic events. RGV told that Sarkar's typical look won't change, but given the complexity of the script, the visual style will change.

Did Vivek Oberoi accuse Salman of being stuck in a time-warp?

Earlier, actors Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi had a fight when the latter held a press conference and accused Salman of threatening him for being close to Aishwarya Rai, who was dating Vivek back then.

Ever since then, the two have stayed away from each other, though Vivek tried to mend the proverbial fence on a couple of times, without much success. In a latest interview to a leading daily, when asked if he got upset when his attempts to bury the hatchet got rejected, Vivek told that though some people are still stuck in a time warp about an instance that happened 13 years ago, he is celebrating his life every day and is not living in the past.

Vivek will be next seen playing a gangster in Ram Gopal Varma's Rai, which is based on the life of so-called don Muthappa Rai.
