Race to Box Office 2024: Bade Miyan Chote Miyan secures 3rd and Maidaan 9th spot at Box Office Collections chart!

With combined sales of less than Rs 20 crores, both of the Eid movies have underperformed in terms of first revenue. Now, everything depends on how well the two movies do in the next days.

Despite being a holiday, the opening day box office receipts for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and starring Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Alaya F, Manushi Chhillar, and Sonakshi Sinha, and Maidaan, directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and starring Ajay Devgn, Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and others, were disappointing. The majority of moviegoers liked Bade Miyan Chote Miyan over the other film, but it doesn't really mean anything when the numbers are this low—especially for a front-loaded actioner.

Miyan Bade Chote Miyan became the third best Hindi film of 2024 in India with an opening of approximately Rs 15 crores nett (Rs 18.50 crore gross), only behind Shaitaan and Fighter. Prior to the release, the advance reservations indicated a far lower opening day; nevertheless, in the final hours, there was an unusual spike in sales, which raised the initial projections. As of right now, Maidaan has grossed between Rs. 8 and Rs. 25 crores.

The day following Eid is seeing a decline in the box office receipts for both films. It appears that Maidaan has a far stronger relative hold than Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Neither of the two movies is going to make much money in the end because of their enormous expenditures.

South Art Director Sunil Babu passed away at the age of 50 due to cardiac arrest, on 5^th January 2023, Thursday night. As per news, He was admitted to the hospital three days ago due to swelling in his leg.

Earlier, Sunil Babu worked as an art director and production designer in Malayalam, Telugu Tamil, and Hindi as well. He entered the film industry as an assistant to art director Sabu Cyril. Some of his best works are movies like Thupakki, Bheeshma Parvam, Maharshi, Oopiri, Ghajini, Premam, Chota Mumbai, and more. He also worked in Hindi for the biggest hits like Singh Is King, MS Dhoni, Paa, Lakshya, Special 26, and more. Besides this, Sunil has done the art direction for the English film Rose.

On the work front, south superstar Dulquer Salmaan is presently busy with his ambitious project King Of Kotha, which is hyped to be an complete action thriller. The movie, which is directed by newcomer Abhilash Joshiy.

Well-known screenwriter KV Vijayendra Prasad who witnessed huge success with RRR has already begun working on his next. The renowned writer has numerous movies in the pipeline, including SS Rajamouli’s next with Mahesh Babu, the Rowdy Rathore sequel, and 1770 — Ek Sangram.

As per latest media report, KV Vijayendra Prasad may be teaming up with director Shaad Ali.

Shaad Ali, who has directed big banner projects such as Bunty Aur Babli, Ok Jaanu and Soorma among others, approached Prasad to write a period piece. The report disclosed that the veteran writer will be penning a historical drama set in pre-Independence India.

Furthermore, the report specified, "Shaad has the highest regard for Vijayendra Prasad’s work. After the success of RRR, he approached him to write a romantic drama. The two have discussed the concept, and are envisioning it as a big-budget project with action and romance. While the writer is developing the script, Shaad will begin filming only by 2023." 

 

In the meantime, the veteran writer has confirmed he is writing a script for Shaad Ali. "I am writing the script for Shaad Ali’s next, and will complete it in four months. You will need to ask him for further details," KV Vijayendra Prasad told.

Young Marathi actress Ishwari Deshpande’s tragic demise due to this reason!

As per media updates, the well-known 25-year-old Marathi actress Ishwari Deshpande died in a road accident. In the Marathi Industry, she was known for her roles in numerous Marathi serials and had made her big screen debut with Premache Side Effects. It was stated that Ishwari and her Shubahm Dedge passed away on Monday after their car plunged into a creek from a bridge near the Arpora village in north Goa.

The Thespian of Indian cinema, legendary Dilip Kumar, 98, took his last breath at the PD Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai on July 7th, 2021 at 7:30 am. He passed away after prolonged age related health issues. Recently, the news has come after Dilip Sahab was hospitalised following episodes of breathlessness. Dr Jalil Parkar, who was treating him confirmed the news.

The Ram Aur Shyam star Dilip Kumar's Twitter handle, which was being managed by a family friend Faisal Farooqui, also confirmed the actor's demise. "With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, few minutes ago. We are from God and to Him we return," Farooqui tweeted.  

A media agency tweet read, "Veteran actor Dilip Kumar passes away at the age of 98, says Dr Jalil Parkar, the pulmonologist treating the actor at Mumbai's PD Hinduja Hospital."

Kumar debuted as an actor in the film Jwar Bhata (1944), produced by Bombay Talkies. In a career spanning over five decades, Kumar worked in over 65 films. Kumar is known for roles in films such as the romantic Andaz (1949), the swashbuckling Aan (1952), the social drama Daag (1952), the dramatic Devdas (1955), the comical Azaad (1955), the epic historical Mughal-e-Azam (1960), the social dacoit crime drama Gunga Jamuna (1961), and the comedy Ram Aur Shyam (1967). He is famous as the Tragedy King due to the portrayal of a broken lover in numerous movies through the 1950s, including the Bimal Roy classic, Devdas in 1955.

Among the other iconic roles, the most memorable one for Dilip Kumar is the historic portrayal of Prince Salim in Mughal-E-Azam, which proved to be the greatest tale of romance upon its release. The talented Dilip Kumar has motivated a generation of actors, including the likes of Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.

Dilip Kumar’s last on-screen appearance was in 1998 in the Umesh Mehra directed Qila, which featured him in a double role. Before Qila was Subhash Ghai’s Saudagar (1990), which emerged a smash hit at the box-office. Referred to as the "Tragedy King" and "The First Khan", he has been credited for bringing a distinct form of method acting technique to cinema. Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj Bajpayee, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter, Vicky Kaushal, Ananya Panday, Huma Qureshi, Hansal Mehta and many others took to social media to remember the legend. Karan Johar, Katrina Kaif, Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur also expressed grief as they mourned the loss of the thespian.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Akshay Kumar wrote, "To the world many others may be heroes. To us actors, he was The Hero. #DilipKumar Sir has taken an entire era of Indian cinema away with him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Om Shanti."

Such was the magic! He was known as the tragedy king, but i was always a fan of his comedic timing.. there will be no1 like him .. deepest condolences to #sairaji n his family." As per a popular paparazzi's handle, Dilip Kumar would be laid to rest with full state honour at 5 PM today in Mumbai. Earlier, photos of Saira Banu leaving the hospital with Dilip Kumar's mortal remains came in. Fans of the actor gathered outside the hospital and police had to intervene to clear roads for the ambulance to pass.

As per the recent update, the legendary star has been given full state honours wherein he was draped in tricolour. The jawans of Maharashtra police had gathered at Dilip Kumar’s residence to give him full state honour. Besides, the late actor’s friends and family had also gathered at his residence to pay their last respects ahead of the funeral. Dilip Kumar’s wife Saira Banu was also papped at the residence who has been inconsolable post the actor’s demise.

Legendary star Dilip Kumar in hospital due to health issue!

As per media updates, hours after he was admitted to city's Hinduja hospital for breathlessness, Dilip Kumar has now been put on oxygen support. As per numerous media reports, the veteran actor has been diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion. The doctors also registered a drop in oxygen saturation and has thus been put on oxygen support as of now.

As per medical terms, Pleural effusion is sometimes referred to as fluid around the lungs or water on the lungs. Presently, the legendary veteran star has been admitted at Mumbai's PD Hinduja hospital.

His hospitalisation was confirmed on the 98-year-old actor's official Twitter handle. It read, "Dilip Sahab has been admitted to non-Covid PD Hinduja Hospital Khar for routine tests and investigations. He’s had episodes of breathlessness. A team of healthcare workers led by Dr. Nitin Gokhale is attending to him. Please keep Sahab in your prayers and please stay safe."
