It's an outdated concept, tells Akshaye Khanna on Censorship!

Actor Akshaye Khanna has been busy promoting his forthcoming movie, MOM. In an interview with a famous tabloid, Akhsaye was questioned about the whole concept of censorship as recently there was a hullabaloo around the censorship of the word intercourse in Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma's Jab Harry Met Sejal.

Responding to the query, Khanna told, “Censorship is an outdated concept. I agree 1,000 percent. It is completely unacceptable to a majority of the society today. Especially, the younger generation who are watching everything online — whether it’s the internet, social media — they can access the information from anywhere and nobody can stop them from doing it. So, they aren’t used to this kind of censorship."

He went on to add further, “You can’t necessarily say that certain content can’t be part of an audio-visual or a film or TV. It could be any content and if everyone else in the world can watch it, so can we.”

Explaining a bit more, Akshaye told, “If it’s a part of a film that requires that kind of a scene to be shot and you are working with a director who you can trust, I don’t think I will have a problem with it. But it has to be absolutely essential to the story."

"All of it has to be there for you to make that decision. As an actor, you cannot say, ‘I won’t do this’. You have to be open to ideas of things that you are naturally not comfortable with, but if the role requires you to do something that you may not be physically, mentally or even socially comfortable with, sometimes you can take a risk and just do it,” he told and ended conversation.

We used to change clothes behind bushes or trees, reveals Sridevi about past experiences!

Veteran Sridevi is presently busy promoting her forthcoming movie, MOM. The trailer has created quite a buzz as the plot is quite intense. The movie follows the story of a mother, Devaki (played by Sridevi) and her teenage daughter Arya, where the former is seen struggling to save the latter in some way.

In an interview to a famous TV channel, Sridevi made some shocking disclosures. Remembering her past shooting experiences, she told, "Vanity van is a blessing for the actresses of today's times. We didn't have such facilities. We used to change clothes behind bushes, trees or even a bus on the sets of our films. I used to avoid drinking water on the sets of the film, as there were no clean washrooms."

She further added, "I hated shooting for those rain songs as I often used to get sick after shooting for it" Yesterday, during promotions, we questioned her about her daughter Jhanvi Kapoor as she is ready to embark on a new journey. She told, "Yeh har maa ke andar hoti hai. When any child is going to start a new career, you are nervous and you are excited. So it is basically all kinds of feelings put together and I'm feeling the same."

We also questioned her that does she seek fashion advice from her daughter. To which he responded, "Well, I take inspiration from them. They guide me and I enjoy that. They are...Aaj ka hai (They are the new generation). They know better. They know what is in fashion. Sometimes you are in your own world. As a mother, I have other things to take. But, I enjoy asking them and we share. Sometimes, they ask me whether it looks good or not, what to change. The same way even I...we share each other's taste."

Mom is scheduled to release on July 7, 2017.

Sridevi's MOM gets UA certificate by CBFC!

In the time when Central Board of Film Certificate has been running its scissors more so than ever, it is very rare that a movie is passed without any cuts. But, in a refreshing news, Sridevi's MOM has been granted a UA certificate with not a single visual or audio cut, as per a famous tabloid.

A tabloid cited CBFC chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani tells, "Srideviji’s performance in Mom has the same impact as Nargisji in Mother India. They both define motherhood and the ingrained sacrifices that a mother makes for a child. I’d go as far as to say Mom is the contemporary Mother India. There will not be one dry eye in the theatres when the film opens.”

The report further states that the movie which was viewed by the CBFC’s board members on Friday had the female members in tears. “It is probably Sridevi’s career’s best performance,” CBFC source told.

The film is directed by Ravi Udyawar and also features talented artists Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Abhimanyu Singh and Akshaye Khanna among others.

Sridevi essays the mother of a teenaged daughter in the film. Speaking about the movie, she told its story "touched and moved" her.

Sridevi is also a MOM to two young and beautiful girls in real life as well - Jhanvi and Khushi. The gorgeous diva mentioned that this helped her relate to her on-screen character better.

"It will be an important film for all mothers and their teenage daughters," Sridevi had told.

Sridevi-Nawazuddin Siddiqui-Akshaye Khanna starrer Mom’s nail biting trailer!

Veteran actor Sridevi starrer MOM's trailer is finally out and it has left us all confused. What is MOM all about? What is Sridevi seeking in the film? Nothing is clear and that is what perhaps makes the trailer all the more exciting!

The film appears to be some sort of thriller and in bits and pieces gives us the vibes of Vidya Balan's Kahaani.

The trailer starts with Sridevi and her daughter sharing some family moments and takes a u-turn with Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna adding spice with their character. It is hard to tell what is Sridevi looking for and why is Nawaz helping her? Why is Akshaye Khanna suspecting her?

There are numerous questions and answers to none! What really raised our curio level was the last dialogue where Sajal Ali, who essays Sridevi's daughter, asks her why didn't she tell everybody that she is not her daughter.

After seeing the trailer, we are assuredly up for some nail-biting thriller.

Sridevi looks unquestionably energetic while Sajal as her daughter fits the role appropriately. Nawaz's character is commendable and Akshaye looks dapper as the detective.

The film also marks the comeback of Sridevi after 5 years. MOM has been produced by Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor and is directed by Ravi Udyawar. The movie also stars Akshaye Khanna, Sushant Singh, Amrita Puri and Raj Zutshi.

MOM is all set to release in the theatres on July 7, 2017.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui's terrifying look in MOM’s new poster!

After Rajkummar Rao who astonished us with his mind blogging makeover for Raabta, it is Nawazuddin Siddiqui who is giving us the chills. How, you ask?

Using prosthetics, Nawazuddin has now donned a semi-bald, crooked avatar for his forthcoming release, MOM. With his intense gaze, he seems to be playing the bad guy who is all set to terrify us. Holding a suitcase, the bespectacled man has an aura of mystery around him and the look somehow reminds us of the yesteryear villains. However, his role has not been revealed as yet, which adds to our curiosity.

"Things may not be what they seem. #LooksCanBeDeceptive @MOMTheMovie @SrideviBKapoor @ZeeStudios_," posted Nawaz while sharing his look from the film.

All we can say is trust Nawaz when it comes to getting into the skin of a character totally.

Speaking about his character, Nawaz had previously told, "We worked on the look for 15 days before we finalised it. The director Ravi Udyawar planned something different. Normally, the character is created first and then the look but for Mom, it was the other way round. We tried various looks with how my character would walk and talk and his mannerisms. We used prosthetics and the entire process would take almost three hours to put on and remove. Moreover, shooting in Mumbai and Delhi during the day, when it is incredibly hot."

Mom also marks the comeback of classic actress Sridevi after 5 years. The movie also stars Akshaye Khanna, Abhimanyu Singh and Pitobash Tripathy in key roles.

Produced by Boney Kapoor, the movie is all set to hit the theatres on June 7, 2017.

Sridevi's Mom delays due to Indo-Pak tensions?

Bollywood’s evergreen actress Sridevi is ready to be seen in her next film Mom. The movie went on floors in the month of March this year in Delhi. The film has reached completion but faced a pause just a day before the last day of the schedule.

As per a famous magazine, the reason behind it is that the movie stars two Pakistani actors, Adnan Siddiqui and Sajal Ali as Sridevi's husband and daughter respectively. Directed by Ravi Udyawar, this is another movie which is facing trouble due to the current Indo-Pak tensions.

Speaking about it, a source disclosed, "After Delhi, we had a two-month schedule in Georgia in May. The remaining portions will most probably be shot in Mumbai but it's unlikely to happen anytime soon given the current situation. We're waiting to hear about the final schedule."

Sridevi's husband, Boney Kapoor, who is producing the movie stated that a day's work is left for the completion. When he was asked about the release of the movie, he declined to remark.
