Recently, Vivek Oberoi shared a meme on Twitter involving
Salman, Aishwarya and Abhishek which caused quite an uproar among everybody.
From Sonam K Ahuja to the National Commission for Women, everybody
called Vivek’s tweet objectionable and he received a lot of flak for the same
on social media. Among all the criticism, Vivek has now issued an apology for
the same. Vivek took to Twitter and stated that he has spent a lot of time
empowering women and hence, he would like to apologise for his folly if it
offended even a single woman. He even mentioned that he cannot ever think of insulting
any woman.
Vivek posted, “Sometimes what appears to be funny and
harmless at first glance to one, may not be so to others. I have spent the last
10 years empowering more than 2000 underprivileged girls, I cant even think of
being disrespectful to any woman ever. Even if one woman is offended by my reply
to the meme, it calls for remedial action. Apologies. tweet deleted.” He didn't
only apologise, Vivek even removed the tweet involving Aishwarya and Salman’s
meme.
