Superstar Aamir Khan lately attended the trailer launch of
Secret Superstar where he was questioned about the recent debate of whether
kids reality shows is a good or bad thing for children.
On this, Aamir told, "You know honestly, I have not
seen any of these shows yaar. I really haven't. But, if I think about it, I
mean it cuts both ways. There are kids who are very talented and who want to be
out there to show their talent. It gives them an opportunity. At the same time,
we shouldn't get so aggressive about it and rob them of their childhood. So, I
think it cuts both ways."
Secret Superstar which also stars Zaira Wasim is about the
dreams and aspirations of a teenager who want to become a singer. When Aamir
was questioned about children's films, the actor specified, "I think as
creative people, we can make more films for children, first of all. We make
fewer movies for children and even youngsters who are in the age bracket of
12-13. We should do more movies for them. This(Secret Superstar) is one film
that is for youngsters, for the age group between 12 and 18. But, this movie is
not only restricted to this age group. This is a family film which will be
liked by children as well as adults. That's what we hope. I think it is a
family film, it has a much wider scope."
He continued, "When our kids were small, we would often
show them animated movies from the West as in India, we make only a few films
that are only for children as in children's movies. So, I think that is
definitely something we can work on."
Directed by Advait Chandan, Secret Superstar is scheduled to
release on October 19, 2017.
