Admirers have been waiting to watch Ankita Lokhande again
work in a show after Pavitra Rishta. It's been more than three years and
finally, she is set to make a comeback that too with a bang. Yes, Ankita is all
set to make her Bollywood debut with none other than in Manikarnika - The Queen
Of Jhansi along with Kangana Ranaut.
She will be essaying an important character named Jhalkari
Bai, the one who used to disguise and shield Rani Laxmi Bai. Her strange similarity
to Rani Laxmibai helped her go in disguise and protect her Queen whenever
required.
Speaking about her role, Ankita specified, "I'd never
heard of her before, not many have, but Jhalkaribai was one of the greatest
heroes of our proud history. I'm honoured that I'll be telling her story to the
world, fighting alongside Kangana's Rani Laxmibai."
From the past few months, Ankita has been taking training in
sword-fighting and is making sure to get into the skin of her character flawlessly.
Like Kangana, even she is getting training under the supervision of Hollywood
Action director, Nick Powell. She told, "Since then, he has taken me by
the hand and shown me how to fight. He treats me like a kid and makes the
training so entertaining."
She further told, "I'm indebted to Kamal sir for this
challenging role in a big-budget film scripted by Baahubali writer KV
Vijayendra Prasad alongside a National Award-winning actress like Kangana who
exudes power and is an inspiration to all women. I'm looking forward to
learning from her once we start shooting in August."
Manikarnika - The Queen Of Jhansi is directed by Krish and
is scheduled to release on April 27, 2018.
