Shatrughan Sinha wants Ranveer to star in his biopic!

Actor Ranveer Singh, who has been astonishing us with his performance and energy levels since his debut movie Band Baaja Baaraat, seems to have impressed veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha too.

While at the launch of his biography Anything But Khamosh, when asked as to which actor should play him in a movie made on his life, the 'Shotgun', as he is lovingly called, told that if ever a movie is made on his life, he would like Ranveer Singh to play the male lead. Sinha further added that he too would like to be a part of such a movie. By the way, Ranveer had romanced Shatrughan's daughter Sonakshi in Lootera.

Ranveer will be next seen romancing Vaani Kapoor in YRF flick Befikre.

Rajkummar Rao and I are a happy combination, says Hansal Mehta!

While one looks forward to a splendid performance by Manoj Bajpayee in Aligarh, it is pretty much on the cards that the Hansal Mehta film would turn out to be a classy affair, what with National Award winning actor Rajkummar Rao joining the proceedings. The actor has worked with Hansal in two movies before this, Shahid and Citylights, both of which won quite some critical acclaim for the subject matter, narrative and of course the acts.

With Hansal and Rajukummar coming together once more for Aligarh, guess this is one director-actor 'Jodi' which is for the keeps?

"Well, I am hoping and though people keep asking me about that, I don’t discuss it too much," says Hansal, "We are a happy combination for sure; we are a family. One must keep the family growing and we share a certain comfort level. We challenge each other on a regular basis. I keep thinking about how to portray Rajkummar differently and he also takes up that challenge. So while I try to bring different things on the table, he too interprets my scripts quite beautifully."

No surprise, with three movies in a row for the director and the actor, it has come to a point where spoken words are no more a need while calling the shots.

"That's correct," agrees Hansal, "Sometimes I don't have to tell Rajkummar what to do and how to do. He knows when I really like a take or not like it. We have reached that point in life where we have developed a solid understanding. When you have that kind of an equation with someone, it results in something beautifully. Since it is working out so beautifully, why tamper with the combination."

With the film set for release this Friday, one looks forward to yet another hard hitting narrative by Hansal with some terrific act on display by Rajkummar Rao and of course Manoj Bajpayee.

Written by Apurva Asrani and produced by Karma Pictures & Eros International, Aligarh is based on the real life tale of Dr. Shrinivas Ramchandra Siras from Aligarh Muslim University who was sacked from his position on charges of homosexuality in 2010.

Preity Zinta and Gene Goodenough plan to auction their wedding snaps for a charitable cause!

Actress and businesswoman, Preity Zinta, who has always supported various causes and is known for taking a stand on issues that are close to her, will now put her money where her heart is.

Sources close to the actress disclose that while there is massive anticipation surrounding her marriage to Gene Goodenough, Preity has determined to channel that into a charitable cause.

A source revealed, "The couple has decided to direct all the hype and anticipation surrounding their wedding into a charitable cause. They will be putting their private wedding images up for auction and the proceeds generated out of these will go towards the Preity Zinta Foundation. Preity's foundation works towards educating children and old age home rehabilitation. Preity has been involved in several charitable initiatives but has never spoken about it since she is an extremely private person. However, both she and Gene wanted to celebrate this joyous moment in their lives by giving back to society in their own little way".

Seemingly, they will have an intimate church wedding in LA, which will be followed by a big fat Indian wedding in Mumbai. It will be a three-day affair (sangeet, mehandi and the D-Day) and the who’s who of the industry will be invited to bless the couple.
