Rakul Preet steps in Sridevi’s shoes for NTR biopic?

Director Teja has pronounced a biopic based on the life of the megastar and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NT Rama Rao, popularly known as NTR. The movie will highlight the unfamiliar aspects of the actor's life. The movie is said to be one of the biggest Tollywood projects in recent times.

Earlier, there were conjectures that Bollywood actress Vidya Balan has been roped in to play the role of Basavatharakam, wife of NTR. Now, as per a report in a daily, actress Rakul Preet is all set to step into the shoes of the iconic actress late Sridevi in the NTR biopic.

But, the talks are still at an early stage and nothing has been confirmed yet.

Sridevi and NTR were one of the most celebrated pairs on screen. They have done around 14 movie together. NTR has also worked in Bollywood in the movie titled Naya Aadmi in the year 1956.

Now Sidharth Malhotra’s romance with an IT professional Rakul Preet!

Bollywood stars Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee were lately in Kashmir to shoot for their forthcoming movie Aiyaary directed by Neeraj Pandey. They wrapped up the shoot and came back to the city.

Now, the female lead of the movie is finalised and it’s none other than Yaariyaan's actress Rakul Preet. Speaking about it, a source disclosed to a daily, "Rakul Preet plays an IT professional, who is Sidharth’s love interest in the film, which is based on real-life events while Sidharth plays an army officer. After a brief break following the Kashmir schedule, the team will resume filming in Delhi."

The official Twitter page of Aiyaary confirmed the news by telling, "3rd Character in the #TeamAiyaary along with #Sid & #Manoj @Rakulpreet plays an IT pro! Does that make her a nerd?"

Aiyaary is based on a real-life incident revolving around two strong-minded army officers having contrary views yet right in their own ways. Manoj Bajpayee essays the mentor of protégé Sidharth Malhotra in the film.

The team will be heading to Delhi for their next schedule. And after that, they will be shooting in Mumbai, London and Oman. Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee will be seen teaming up for the first time in Aiyaary.

Talking about the Kashmir schedule of Aiyaary, a source stated to a leading daily, "It was humbling to witness the difficult conditions in which the jawans lived and the constant danger they faced. For the jawans too, interacting with Sid and Manoj and posing for pictures with them was a wonderful experience."

Rakul Preet Singh gets Parineeti Chopra’s debut Telugu film!

We had informed previously that actress Parineeti Chopra is all set to make her Tollywood debut opposite South star Mahesh Babu in AR Murugadoss's film, but it is not happening any longer. Seemingly, Parineeti has left the film and her Tollywood debut will have to wait for some time.

It is still uncertain why Parineeti decided to drop the movie. In the meantime, the makers of the movie have found the actress's replacement in Rakul Preet Singh, who made her acting debut in Divya Khosla Kumar's Yaariyan. Seemingly, Rakul has already done her test shoot and the final talks are underway.

The untitled project, which is scheduled to go on floors in August, is a bilingual project and will be shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil. The movie, which is supposedly being made on a budgetof Rs 90 crore, will be mainly shot in Mumbai.
