When I decided to turn producer, I didn't ask Aditya Chopra for permission, says Anushka Sharma!

Gorgeous Anushka Sharma is presently gearing up for her film Phillauri which is her second venture as a producer under Clean Slate Films with her brother Karnesh Sharma. The actress debuted nine years back in Yash Raj Film's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi with Shah Rukh Khan and recently starred in YRF's movie Sultan opposite Salman Khan. 

Anushka told to a famous daily that there is no clash of interest between herself and YRF. She disclosed, "Yash Raj has a talent management wing, which is independent of their production house. They manage my work, but that doesn't make me an in-house talent. I have been associated with Adi (Aditya Chopra, YRF's boss) for many years, but when I decided to turn producer, I didn't pick up the phone and ask him for permission. It was only when I met him (that I told him about starting my own production house). He said it was a superb idea" 

She also further added that she is not obliged to sign every YRF movie just because she was their 'discovery'. "Adi offers me a lot of movies and I agree to do one only if I like it," the actress told and added, "It is obvious that we have brought in good things from them into our company."

Directed by Anshai Lal, Phillauri is slated to release on March 24, 2017. Produced by Fox Star Studios and Clean Slate Films, the movie also stars Diljjit Dosanjh, Suraj Sharma and Mehreen Pirzada. 

In the meantime, Anushka will also be seen in Imtiaz Ali's next and will be reuniting with Shah Rukh Khan for the third time.

Anushka Sharma rejects any similarity between Phillauri and Corpse Bride!

Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma is all set for the release of Phillauri, her second movie as a producer. 

In the movie, we will get to see the actor playing the role of a friendly spirit named Shashi, who lives on a tree. 

Suraj Sharma, another lead of the movie gets married to a tree where Shashi lives as he is a Manglik. But Shashi calls herself his wife as she is a resident of that tree and states he married her not the tree. 

When these hilarious sequences were shown in the trailer, many felt it was inspired by a Hollywood movie titled Corpse Bride. 

Lately, Anushka was questioned about it and she blatantly rejected by stating, "There is no similarity between Phillauri and Corpse Bride because Tim Burton's movie falls in dark humour space. Secondly, the whole concept of a Manglik getting married to a tree is a very Indian concept so it can not be a copy of anything. But, I understand when something different comes out, people are like 'are different hai toh kisi ka copy toh hoga'."

Corpse Bride is an animated movie starring Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter and was released in the year 2005.

Phillauri is directed by debutant Anshai Lal and also stars Diljit Dosanjh and Mehreen Pirzada in pivotal roles. The movie is produced by Fox Star India and Clean Slate Films and it is slated to release tomorrow that is, March 24, 2017.

I never felt any camp system in Bollywood, says Diljit Dosanjh!

Punjabi actor Diljit Dosanjh is all set to win our hearts yet again in Phillauri. The film stars Anushka Sharma, Suraj Sharma and Mehreen Pirzada as the leads. Phillauri will be Diljit's second movie after Udta Punjab which released last year to a ton of critical acclaim. Along with the rest of the cast which included Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit's performance was applauded. 

In Film Industry, whether one likes to admit it or not, camps exist. As a Punjabi superstar and an outsider who did not belong to any known Bollywood family, a leading news agency asked Diljit if he ever had to face any problems or discrimination because of the existing camps. 

The actor specified, "I have never faced it (discrimination) nor has anybody tried to do bad to me. Whoever I met, they greeted me with respect and love. I never felt any camp system here."

On what is his views on camp systems, Diljit told, "Yes, when you make films you can have your 'team'. One team is making a film like this, another will make a different film."

While Udta Punjab saw Dijit as well as Shahid, Phillauri will see Dosanjh and Suraj Sharma together. On whether he would prefer to do a solo movie, Diljit said, "I have no such wish, to be honest. I want to do movies with great stories. The content should be strong. I have no problem if there are several actors with me. The number of artists can vary but the content should be good. I have no such desire (to be solo)."

Directed by Anshai Lal, Phillauri is slated to release on March 24, 2017.

Phillauri’s star Diljit Dosanjh not allowed on The Kapil Sharma Show! Know Why?

Those who follow The Kapil Sharma Show might have observed that Anushka Sharma went to promote Phillauri without Diljit Dosanjh and it shocked everyone as the two have promoting the movie together on very platform. Then what went wrong? Why did only Anushka go without Diljit on the show?

Well, as per to a report in a famous tabloid, the reason for Diljit for not attending the show was because of the issue between Colors channel and Kapil Sharma. Diljit is judging Colors' The Rising Star and it was but obvious that it would have affected. 

Previously, Kapil's Comedy Nights With Kapil aired on Colors with but things went downhill with the channel and Kapil moved to Sony. In an interview with the tabloid, Colors's CEO told, "Kapil Sharma was on television for over 10 years, first on Laughter Challenge and then on Comedy Circus before he did Comedy Nights...' with us. He is a nice person and is extremely talented. We gave him a platform and co-created 'Comedy Nights...' with him. It was the channel's decision to call it 'Comedy Nights With Kapil' (originally the show was to be titled 'Comedy Nights'), as we felt that it would give him a sense of ownership and his loyalty to the show would be 100 per cent. We even helped him set up his production company. The success of the show meant that we had a person who suddenly became a star and found it difficult to manage his success."

He had further added, "Kapil started renegotiating and asking for more money which we gave, but the more important and worrying thing was that he violated his contract by hosting shows on competitive channels in spite of having an exclusive contract with Colors for TV, which we felt was not ethical."

But, seemingly this has now restricted Diljit and he couldn't be a part of the show!

I am more than capable of producing and promoting my own films, says angry Anushka Sharma!

Gorgeous actress cum producer Anushka Sharma is disappointed with some rumours doing the rounds that her film Phillauri is being produced by so-called boyfriend Virat Kohli. The actress-turned-producer therefore took to Instagram to clear matters on this front. 

Anushka posted, "Phillauri is produced by FOX STAR HINDI and CLEAN SLATE FILMS. So those TV channels/newspapers/websites claiming anything else, please check FACTS, practice responsible journalism and have some shame. I have always led my career with dignity and often chose to maintain a dignified silence on many untruthful stories, that does not mean you can take my silence as my weakness and say anything without checking with me or my team."

Actress cum producer Anushka’s collaboration with Rustom's producers for a film!

Beautiful actress Anushka Sharma has become a complete producer with her maiden production house Clean Slate Films. Until now she has produced movies like NH 10 (2015) and Phillauri which will release this year.

At present, Clean Slate Films will be tying up with Rustom's producer KriArj Entertainment and their first movie will be going on floors this year. Speaking about it, Karnesh Sharma, Anushka's brother told, "We are happy about this association. Both production houses share a common vision - to provide strong content to discerning cinema viewers."

Arjun N Kapoor, the co-founder of KriArj Entertainment added to it telling, "There couldn't be a more fitting partnership. Clean Slate Films has shown consistency in providing quality content. We look forward to a long-term collaboration."

I can’t expect studios to give me a budget for my films, says Anushka Sharma on being a female producer!

Anushka Sharma turned into a bold, young producer with NH10 in 2015. Clean Slate Films - Anushka Sharma's production house is run by the actress and her brother, Karnesh. And for the time being, she is busy with the post-production of her next, Phillauri. In an interaction with a famous tabloid, the actress dwelled upon on why she is okay with her movies not making money right away and how she’s dealing with the fact. 

So is it easy being a female producer? On being asked this, Anushka told, “I can’t expect studios to give me a budget for my films, which they might give an Aamir Khan.” 

And how hard it is to produce content-oriented small budget movies and release them?  "I did NH10 without charging a fee. I couldn’t. I’ll explain it to you. See, if I am a studio and Raju Hirani wants to make a film with Aamir Khan, obviously I will give up my entire life’s savings knowing well that the two of them will come up with something incredible. But when it comes to a newer director, situations are different. Since NH10 did not have commercial elements, for that film to work, I had to produce the film," revealed Anushka Sharma.

Is the situation similar to Diljit Dosanjh starrer Phillauri? Anushka further added, "Phillauri is a more commercial film than NH10. It’s a fun film with comedy and romance. So we definitely have a better budget for the film. But when an actor backs a film like this, the studio feels more confident about it. Today, as an actress, I feel I have that bankability because of the films that I have done, that a studio feels some merit in the films I do and would readily okay a certain budget for it. That’s the reason why they would back a film like Phillauri."

Sonam Kapoor told that women don’t get a certain budget for their movies which probably a male actor does. Owing to this, she and Kareena (Kapoor) have had to slash their prices. "See, I am not going to comment on that because I have absolutely no idea about what Sonam has said. I don’t even know the budgets of each of these films, so it will be a very careless comment if I make it. But only from my point of view, I will talk. Literally, I am making Phillauri with just a big heart. That’s the only way I would have been able to make the film."

Gossip mill is abuzz that Anushka will be next starring in a movie called Kaneda. The actress opens up about the same. "We are going to make an announcement soon. And yes, I will be acting in it!," said Anushka Sharma, before ending the conversation. 

Anushka Sharma-Diljit Dosanjh's Phillauri in cinemas on 24, 2017!

Bollywood actress and producer Anushka Sharma's second home production Phillauri has been in news for quite some time now. The movie, which also stars Diljit Dosanjh in the lead, has finally got a release date.

Film Phillauri will release on March 24, 2017. Shot in the picturesque locations of Punjab, the movie, went on floors on Baisakhi previously this year and was wrapped up by June.

"High concept Bollywood films are being universally loved by audiences and critics and Phillauri, our fun, romantic movie falls perfectly under this bracket.
