Aishwarya opens up about to be a part of Bhansali’s Padmaavat!

Aaishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali have worked together in numerous flicks from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam to Guzaarish. There has been conjecture about them working in other movies after that. It was reported that Sanjay Leela Bhansali wanted to make Bajirao Mastani with Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai. But, after their unpleasant breakup, the project happened with Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.

In chat with a tabloid, Aishwarya was questioned about working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali again. When questioned when she will say ‘YES’ to a Bhansali project, she revealed, “Bajirao Mastani also we were supposed to do together. He didn’t get the Bajirao for me. He didn’t get the Khilji for me; He wanted me to do Padmaavat, but could not get the Khilji for me, at the casting time. So, that’s how it didn’t happen. I would love to work together.”

She clarified, “The person he saw to play Khilji with me playing Padmavati did not happen. So, at the end of the day, you need to see the casting. If the casting is not happening, then you know…sometimes, it doesn’t come together. The intention is always there to work together, but it didn’t happen. We both loved working with each other, so let’s see, whenever it is meant to be.”

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor's Padmaavat finally has released on January 25, this year, after being caught in controversies for over a year. It wasn't an easy ride for Shahid, but it was because of wife Mira Rajput's relentless support that he won the battle.

When Shahid has asked about that there was a time when the movie was postponed and Karni Sena wanted to ban the movie and your one and half years of hard work was at stake. Did you break down then and was Mira the constant support?

On this, Shahid revealed, "Mira has been the constant support throughout. It's character in the film that needs a lot from as an actor. I was like the new entrant in the team which has already worked before. To the fact, the film had to deal with before it actually came out. There was so much written about the film before it was seen. It was a tiring journey and Mira has been a support system and like a wall for me. I couldn't have done it without her."

Deepika Padukone-Shahid Kapoor-Ranveer Singh starrer Padmaavat is going to break all box office records after facing a lot of hurdles during release. The film’s lead cast is overjoyed at the remarkable success of the movie.

Lively actor Ranveer Singh has won the maximum praises for his role in the movie. Deepika Padukone in a chat to a leading media source spoke lovingly about her co-stars from Padmaavat and told, “I don’t think Padmavati would have been Padmavati without Ranveer as Khilji and Shahid Kapoor as Maha Rawal Ratan Singh. They have done what they have done with a big heart and a lot of generosity and I recognize that; for the work that they have put in and for the risks that both of them have taken for the film. A lot of people advised them to not do the film because the film was the name of female protagonist.”

About Shahid Kapoor and the character of Maha Rawal Ratan Singh, she revealed, “This film would be incomplete if Shahid did not do the film. It needed someone of his stature. There’s something very special that he brought (to the film).”

She further added, “The day we finished the screening, I gave him a tight hug and it was an extremely emotional moment for all of us and all I could do is look him in the eye and thank him for doing this film.”

In a previous media chat, Shahid had also stated his experience of working with Deepika. “It’s weird. There were times when I agreed to do a film and she declined it. Somehow, we never ended up doing a film together. Padmavati is a great film to come together for. What a fantastic relationship existed between the king and the queen as husband and wife. It’s complex. Deepika’s a great actress. She’s at the top of the game. She’s perfect for Padmavati. We had a great time working with each other. It didn’t feel that we were working for the first time,” he had told.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali wanteds only trio Deepika-Ranveer-Shahid for Padmavat!

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s work of art Padmaavat has finally hit the theatres after several hullabaloos. The film’s set was attacked, the actors were threatened with physical harm and Sanjay Leela Bhansali was himself attacked by assailants.

But, the movie has released now and the director is overjoyed with the response to the movie. In a chat to a portal he revealed, “I really don’t know how I got through this period. But after all of this, to have the film release finally in spite of all odds, and most importantly, to have audiences flocking to see it in spite of the threats… I can’t tell you what a relief and joy it is. Just hearing about the collections washes away all my pain of the last 8-9 months… well, maybe not all of it.”

He further added, “Every time I was attacked, I used my pain and suffering as an impetus to work better. I channelised all my anxiety into making Padmaavat. I think suffering has always been an incentive for my creativity.”

When questioned about casting Ranveer Singh-Shahid Kapoor-Deepika Padukone for the movie, he told, “It made no difference to me whether they had successes or flops behind them. I wanted these actors and only these three actors. And I am so happy with the quality of performances they have given in my film.”

He also credited his mother and his friends for being by his side when he was facing controversies. “I’ve toiled over every moment of the film,” he ended conversation.

She just told me to go out there and express yourself and to believe in yourself. It is an important film. Honestly, it is not the most author-backed role in the film. But, I feel amazing seeing the love for the film.”

Karan Johar wants safe release of Padmaavat!

The hullabaloo surrounding Padmaavat has been an eye-opener on how fringe elements can affect the release of a film. The film starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali is finally releasing on January 24, 2018, at 7 PM.

The movie has already suffered enough perils for being a period drama and is presently eyeing a smooth release. Amid all this, the Rajput Karni Sena members have already called for a bandh and have cautioned people against watching the film.

Karan Johar, who has had a difference of opinion with Sanjay Leela Bhansali previously, told that he is hoping for a smooth release of the movie now that Supreme Court has passed a judgment in its favour. He spoke on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum 2018 which is taking place in Davos.

A leading media source mentioned Karan Johar telling, "SC judgement went in favor of #Padmaavat, it is a matter of happiness that the law has prevailed. I hope for a safe release."

Film Padmaavat’s paid previews on 24th January?

The box-office is going to witness a massive clash in the form of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat and Akshay Kumar’s PadMan on January 25, 2018. But, even before the movies are set to release, Padmaavat has already been officially banned in four states which are Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat and other states could follow.

Keeping this in mind, the makers of Padmaavat are leaving no stone unturned in trying to gain the first-mover advantage in this box-office clash. As per a report in a tabloid, the Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor starrer will have paid previews across theatres in India (barring the states that have banned it) on the night of January 24.

Verifying the development, an owner of a multiplex in Mumbai said a tabloid, “While PadMan releases on 25th January, Padmaavat will release the night before. The distributors of Padmaavat are likely to release reimburse the film that is scheduled for the 9.30 pm show that day and screen the magnum opus instead. There will be only one paid preview. This will happen not just in my theatres but across India.”

There are also news that Deepika, Ranveer and Shahid will not promote Padmaavat. The makers feel that statements made at interviews could ‘cause further uproar’, ahead of the film’s January 25 release.

A source told, ''The makers want to keep promotional work minimal to avoid controversy. Also, the cast members are busy with other commitments.''

The film was previously scheduled to release on December 1, 2017, but continuous protests and CBFC fiasco forced the makers to shift the date.

In the meantime, speaking about the film, the director of Padmaavat Sanjay Leela Bhansali specified, "Padmaavat is a dream come true for me. I have always been fascinated by the stories of honour, valour and vigour of our great Rajput warriors that have been captured so beautifully in our literature and this movie is my homage to those glorious stories. I would also like to thank the entire film fraternity for supporting Viacom18 and Bhansali Productions through the entire production and pre-release phase and hope they like the film they so supported."

It’s not pleasant for both the parties and will impact both, tells Twinkle on PadMan vs Padmaavat clash!

The first Bollywood clash in 2018 is Padmaavat vs PadMan.

Film Padmaavat has been riddled with disputes from the get go and has finally settled on the release date of January 25, 2018. But, the date was already taken by PadMan previously.

When a tabloid questioned PadMan producer Twinkle Khanna about the clash, she told, "It’s not pleasant for both [the parties] and will impact both. But they have also been through enough of their own hurdles. But I wish they would have come a week earlier or a week after us preferably. I am sure Mr [Sanjay Leela] Bhansali has made a wonderful movie but we are very confident of our content. So, I am not apprehensive, and we are not going to move or anything because we are very happy with what [date] we have. (laughs). He has been making relevant choices. He has also been undergoing a personal evolution. What I find remarkable, as somebody who has been with him for almost 18 years now, is that he isn’t afraid to take leaps and change with times and grow. Even his thought process vis-à-vis what he would think 10 years ago and now, is evolving. That’s [how] all of us [are] at this age."

R. Balki's PadMan is based on Arunachalam Muruganantham (inventor of low-cost sanitary napkins for women in rural areas) and stars Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.

No 300 cuts in Padmavat as per CBFC chief!

Recently, Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chairperson Prasoon Joshi rebutted a report that the "modifications" demanded by the censor board in the historical drama, has resulted in 300 cuts.

"The makers have submitted the final film with agreed five modifications which has already been communicated and a U/A certificate has been given to the film. CBFC's process is complete and any further news about cuts is absolutely untrue. Let's refrain from utilising CBFC's name unnecessarily," Joshi told a media source.

A report by a tabloid reported that to suit the demands of the CBFC, "one of Bollywood's leading directors was sitting in the editing suite at Rajkamal Studio at Parel, turning the specific locations of his magnum opus into la la land".

The report further read that "Padmavat" director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been instructed to delete all references to Delhi, Chittorgarh and Mewar from the movie and that "buzz is that they (the modifications) have resulted in as many as 300 cuts".

"Padmavat", which was to previously release as "Padmavati" on December 1 last year, has been entangled in a controversy over assumed distortion of historical facts.

CBFC, in discussion with a special advisory panel, saw the movie last month and decided to grant the movie a U/A certificate with five amendments, including title change and two disclaimers.

The film, starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, is scheduled to release on January 25, but the Rajasthan government has said they won't allow it to be showed in the state.
