Action scenes in ‘Rocky Handsome’ are my item numbers, says John Abraham!

John Abraham has as many as 8 'item numbers' in Rocky Handsome. No, these are not one of the many hit songs that he has been a part of over the years. Neither is he getting jiggy with another 'Laila' outing alongside a hot-bod. Instead, he is appearing in as many as 8 'cool & sexy' action sequences, which are being proudly referred to as his 'item numbers' no less.

"That's correct," verifies producer Sunir Kheterpal of Azure Entertainment, "The original Korean film too was abound with action. However, when we decided to adapt it as per Indian milieu, we made sure that John Abraham as a star stood out as well. He has a loyal audience that has been following his action ever since the days of Dhoom. They expect something different from him each time around. Hence, for Rocky Handsome, we made sure that each of these 8 action sequences was different from the other. They had to have that special 'tadka' in there which made on look forward to the next serving."

For John, it was one challenge that he loved to pick up, courtesy his 13 years in the industry that has seen him enact quite a few action packed roles.

But, with his subsequent movies like Race 2, Shootout at Wadala and Madras Cafe, there was added variety that started coming in, something that made John take it all to the next level with Rocky Handsome.

"Well, the idea is to keep moving ahead, otherwise what's the point. See, when you say action, you typically associate it with blood and gore. That is not the case here. Each one of my '8 item numbers here' is cool, sexy and urban. Isn't that what you anyways expect from an item number," says John.

John Abraham’s 'Rocky Handsome' is a perfect combination of action and emotion!

It is clear that the film 'Rocky Handsome', while being a power packed action affair, has a good deal of emotions running high as well. Other than the fact that there is a brief love story in the offering as well, considering Shruti Haasan features in a special appearance as John's love interest, it is the equation that John shares with the child artist Diya Chalwad that forms the highlight of the movie.

Add to this some brutal holds-no-bar action on display and you know that Rocky Handsome is a combination of action and emotion on screen, something that always proves to be a lethal combination when mixes in the right proportion.

For starters, the movie by itself has an engaging premise, that of John trying to save a little girl who has been kidnapped by the gang. While John has carried a strong image of being an action hero, the emotional side of his hasn't been forgotten, right from the time he burst on the scene with an emotional act in Awarapan Banjarapan [Jism]. From then to now, 13 years and 40 odd films later, John has seen quite a few successes coming his way which have ranged from a hardcore comedy Welcome Back to an intense-n-dramatic Madras Cafe. Particularly in latter, he has showed how he can bring controlled emotions on screen.

Same is expected in Rocky Handsome as well. The First Look poster, teaser as well as the theatrical promo have already done the trick. Recent unveiling of the song Alfazon Ki Tarah, which further establishes his vulnerable side, has fetched good attention already. Now it is time for this 'handsome' to bring on some action on screen.

That is pretty much expected too when the Nishikant Kamat movie, which is produced by John along with Sunil Kheterpal, releases all over on 25th March.

'Rocky Handsome'’s Rehnuma reveals John's romantic side!

The makers of John Abraham's forthcoming action thriller Rocky Handsome have mostly focused on John's macho side in the posters of the movie, but the new song from the movie, shows John's romantic side.

Titled Rehnuma, the song, which has been shot at the scenic locales of Seychelles, also features Shruti Haasan, who plays the female lead. Shreya Ghoshal and Inder Bawra have lent their soulful voice, which features John and Shruti as they unleash their sexy chemistry in the song.

Directed by Nishikant Kamat, Rocky Handsome, which also stars Nathalia Kaur and Kamat himself, is slated to release on March 25.

John’s grim and lethal look in 'Rocky Handsome' new poster!

John Abraham, who had teamed up with Nishikant Kamat for Force, will be directed by the filmmaker again in Rocky Handsome and John took to his Twitter page to unveil a new poster of the movie.

In the new poster, an injured John is seen aiming his gun at somebody and what makes the poster unique is the cheerful yellow smiley sticker on the fingernail of the actor, who looks grim and lethal in his black suit and slicked back hair.

Apart from John, Rocky Handsome, which also stars Shruti Haasan and Nathalia Kaur, is slated to release on March 5.
