Ishqiya fam director Abhishek Chaubey will direct the Hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand!

As per media reports, producer Ronnie Screwvala and director Abhishek Chaubey have united for the biopic on the hockey legend. The duo had previously worked together in the 2019 movie Sonchiriya that featured Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar and Manoj Bajpayee.

Recently, Ronnie Screwvala took to Twitter hand and shared a collage of photographs of the hockey legend and expressed his enthusiasm over his new project.

While sharing the monochrome photographs, he posted, “1500+ goals, 3 Olympic gold medals, and a story of India’s pride...It gives us immense pleasure to announce our next with #AbhishekChaubey - a biopic on the Hockey Wizard of India- #DHYANCHAND.” While it got the cine lovers excited, actor Abhishek Bachchan was also quick to take note of the pronouncement and responded writing, “Fantastic! All the best.”

In a media interaction, Abhishek revealed, “Dhyan Chand is one of the greatest hockey players in the history of our national sport, and it’s a matter of pride to direct his biopic. We had a massive amount of research material in hand, and honestly, every achievement of his life deserves a separate story in itself.”

Sonchiriya’s latest poster with dacoit avatars of Sushant Singh Rajput and Manoj Bajpayee!

The initial poster for Sushant Singh Rajput and Manoj Bajpayee starrer Sonchiriya is out recently. The movie is directed by Abhishek Chaubey.

The movie is based on the topic of dacoits in Chambal. On the poster, Sushant Singh Rajput, Manoj Bajpayee and Ranveer Shorey are dressed as dacoits along with their gang.

The poster has a text written in Devnagari that reads, 'Bairi beimaan, baaghi saavdhan!'

Film is slated to release on February 8, 2019.

Now Bhumi Pednekar to romance Sushant in Chaubey's directorial?

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput is all set to essay the role of a dacoit in a movie directed by Abhishek Chaubey. The film will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala.

Speaking about it, a source close to the development of the movie had specified to a famous daily, "Sushant is playing a dacoit. The film will be shot in the Chambal ravines and will roll by the year-end. Prep has begun and the team is excited."

Now, the reports have it that Bhumi Pednekar might pair opposite Sushant in the movie. She will be joining the team in the month of January in 2018. A source disclosed to a famous tabloid, "Bhumi begins work on the film in January. Abhishek Chaubey plans to shoot in real locations so he and his team are busy doing the recee right now."

The source further told, "Sushant will complete Kedarnath’s first schedule and then move to the Chambal film in January."

The movie will be set in the 1970s and will be based around the Chambal dacoits. The shooting is likely to get wrapped by February 2018.

Sudip Sharma, who has co-written the movie added, "Some of them have more than 80 murder charges on them. Everyone has heard horror stories about the dacoits of Chambal but I've realised the reality is quite different from what Hindi films portray. We aim to capture that reality."

Sushant Singh Rajput is a Daku!

Abhishek Chaubey proved he’s a master filmmaker with last year’s drug-themed Udta Punjab, and now he’s putting the spotlight on the Chambal dacoits for his next movie.

Abhishek has cast Sushant Singh Rajput as a daku in the untitled project that will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s banner RSVP. The film that’s set in the 1970s will be based on real stories that its writer Sudip Sharma heard first-hand from the reformed dacoits he met when he went to Chambal for research. Prepare to be blown away by it!

The list of the Censor Board’s objections for 'Udta Punjab’!

We have been reading about the conflict between the makers of forthcoming movie Udta Punjab and the Censor Board, but not many know about the exact words and scenes that the Board wants to be deleted from the movie.

We finally have to manage to get our hands on the list of things that the Censor is frowning on and wants the makers of the movie to do away with. Have a look at the recommendations of the Board-

•           Delete sign of Board of Punjab in the beginning.

•           Delete Punjab, Jalandhar, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Tarantaran, Jashanpura, Ambesar, Ludhiana and Moga to be deleted from background and dialogue wherever it occurs.

•           From song no. 1 delete the word 'Chiitave' and 'H*r*mi' everywhere.

•           From song no. 2 delete 'tom di c*ck jevhe chitti chitti c*ck' and 'coke c*ck' in the entire song.

•           Delete B****c**d, B****c**d*, B**d, T*tt*, G**d**, G**d*, l**d*, h***mz**d*, m*****c**d, chusa hua aam, k*tt*, m**yove, kudi c**d*, l*ll*, g*sht*, from everywhere including background wherever it occurs. Reg. Tommy, B****c**do, B****c**d, before TCR 1.31. allowed and after that all to be deleted.

•           Delete the word 'Election'. 'MP'. 'Party from party worker, MLA, Punjab, Parliament.

•           From the song No. 3, delete the visuals of scratching/ itching side portion by Sardar.

•           Delete the closeup shots of injecting the drugs wherever it appears.

•           Delete the shot of urinating by Tommy in front of the crowd.

•           Delete the line 'Jamin Banzar le Aulad Kanjar'

•           Delete the name of dog as 'Jacky Chain'.

Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, Udta Punjab stars Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh.

Alia Bhatt prefers Udta Punjab instead of walked Rock On!! Sequel!

Alia Bhatt has walked out of the Rock On!! sequel to star in Abhishek Chaubey’s next film instead.

The actress would have ideally liked to do both films, but a clash of dates meant that she had to pick between them instead. She’s opted for the Ishqiya director’s movie Udta Punjab, which focuses on the rampant use of drugs in North India.

Udta Punjab will also feature Shahid Kapoor, and begins filming in February. Don’t be surprised if Shraddha Kapoor bags Rock On!! 2 in her stead.
