Not right time to make biopic on Rahman, reveals Imtiaz Ali!

Filmmaker and Director Imtiaz Ali, who has worked with A.R. Rahman for movies like "Rockstar", "Highway" and "Tamasha", tells the Oscar winning composer's life is worth a biopic, but feels it can wait.

Imtiaz attended the premiere of "One Heart: The A.R. Rahman Concert Film" here on Thursday.

Questioned whether a biopic should be made on Rahman, he told, "Definitely... I think a biopic should be made on A.R. Rahman sir, but I don't think this is the right time to make film on his life. One can start with the research but it should be made later on. He is too young and he has not even reached the middle point of his career."

Rahman has marked 25 years of his music career in movies.

The movie's premiere was attended by celebs like Ashutosh Gowariker, Armaan Malik, Boney Kapoor, Akriti Kakar, Javed Jaffery, Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Raghav Sachar, Mukesh Chhabra, Roop Kumar Rathod, Lalit Pandit, Pankaj Udhas and Jubin Nautiyal.

After a varied response to his last movie "Jab Harry Met Sejal", what is Imtiaz planning for his future project?

"I am writing new scripts. I am trying to figure out which one is good and as usual, I am trying to find best scripts to which I can do justice.", he added later.

Music maestro A.R. Rahman to compose for Bruce Lee biopic!

Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman has been roped in to compose the music for the Bruce Lee biopic, which is being directed by Academy Award nominated filmmaker Shekhar Kapur.

"A.R. Rahman is also doing the music for Bruce Lee," told Shekhar Kapur.

Shekhar Kapur is pre-occupied with the shoot of "Little Dragon", an authorised biopic of the martial arts legend and actor Bruce Lee.

The tale is a contemporary dramatisation of the 1950s Hong Kong social and political forces that shaped Bruce Lee into the most famous martial arts star and a significant modern day philosopher.

Shekhar Kapur told he is thrilled about the music that Rahman will compose for the project.

In the meantime, the filmmaker's young and gifted daughter Kaveri too is ready to do a single with Rahman.

"Kaveri and I are going to go to Chennai. She is doing a song with A.R. Rahman," Kapur told, adding that she will be recording a single and not any song for a film with the Mozart of Madras.

A teenager, Kaveri is Kapur's daughter with actress Suchitra Krishnamoorthi. She has already sung "Did you know", "Half a heart" and her newest track is called "Again".

The first look of A. R. Rahman's Film '99 Songs'!

After thrilling music lovers, across the globe with his harmonious tunes, Academy Award-winning music composer A. R. Rahman is now ready to woo films lovers with his forthcoming movie 99 Songs.

The makers of the movie have unveiled its first poster and like the title, the poster too is ethereal. It shows a huge piano hanging from the heavens as the male protagonist gracefully holds on to one of its legs with one hand, whilst holding his leading lady with the other.

The actress looks delicate as she dangles from the hero's hand in a suspended dance pose. From her free hand she is seen throwing rose petals, which attain the shape of 99 as they rise up in the sky. The red rose petals not only give it a very romantic feel but also lend a magical touch to the alluring poster.

The musical is being directed by Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy, who has also  penned the screenplay. Rahman has not only composed the film's music but its story too is the music maestro's brainchild.

Presented by A. R. Rahman, the film is being produced by Ideal Entertainment and YM Movies and is slated to release in 2017.
