After shattering box office records and crossing the monumental ₹1,790+ crore mark worldwide, Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller Dhurandhar2: The Revenge has officially made its digital debut. Starring Ranveer Singh in a career-defining role, the blockbuster sequel premiered on OTT platforms on May 14–15, 2026.
However, the makers have pulled off a surprise by employing
a split-platform strategy, releasing a darker, completely uncensored version
for international audiences that differs significantly from what was screened
in cinemas.
Where to Watch Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge on OTT?
The digital streaming rights for the film have been split
based on geography:
- In
the US, UK, Canada, UAE, and Rest of the World: The film is now
streaming exclusively on Netflix.
- In
India: The digital rights are held by JioHotstar. While
international audiences can watch it immediately, the official Indian
streaming date is expected to follow shortly, delayed in part due to an
ongoing IP rights case in the Bombay High Court.
What is Different in the OTT Version? (The 'Raw &
Undekha' Cut)
For its international release on Netflix, the film has been
dropped under the title Dhurandhar: The Revenge (Raw and Undekha) or Raw
& Unseen. Clocking a massive runtime of 3 hours, 52 minutes, and 24
seconds, it adds crucial footage and uncensored elements that were missing
from the theatrical release.
Here is exactly how the OTT version differs from the movie
version:
1. Extended Runtime & Restored Scenes
The streaming version adds roughly 3 minutes of unseen
footage. These extra minutes include sequences featured in the initial trailers
but chopped from the theatrical cut due to time constraints and pacing
requirements, adding deeper layers to the backstory of Hamza (Ranveer Singh).
2. Visceral and Uncut Violence
The theatrical release underwent severe cuts by the Censor
Board (CBFC) to tone down intense gore. The international Netflix version
completely restores these sequences:
- The
Rampage Sequence: The opening scene featuring Jaskirat's rampage is
entirely unedited, showing him brutally bashing an antagonist with a
hammer without any cutaways.
- The
Muridke Climax: The climactic action sequence where Ranveer's
character crushes an opponent's head with a cement block is shown in full
graphic detail.
- The
Lyari Gang War Episode: An extended sequence shows Hamza executing
rival gangsters using a shop's rolling metal shutter.
3. Folklore Scene Intact
One of the most talked-about urban legends from the Lyari
faction conflict involves gangster Uzair Baloch (played by Danish Pandor)
playing football with the severed head of rival Arshad Pappu. While the
theatrical version merely hinted at the incident before a cutaway, the Raw
& Undekha version displays the sequence fully, including a final
graphic shot previously omitted.
4. Zero Dialogue Censorship
Audiences heavily criticized the theatrical version for
selectively muting verbal abuses and cuss words. The international OTT version
has all cuss words fully intact with no muting or audio bleeps.
Furthermore, the English subtitles have been updated to accurately translate
the raw dialogues.
Will Indian Audiences Get the Uncut Version?
The distinct difference in regulatory guidelines means
Indian fans might be restricted to a different viewing experience. When Dhurandhar
2 debuts on JioHotstar in India, it is expected to mirror the
standard CBFC-approved theatrical cut rather than the hyper-violent Raw
& Undekha version currently streaming globally.
The high-octane spy thriller also features stellar
performances from Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, and
Danish Iqbal (as Dawood Ibrahim).
Stay tuned for updates on the official JioHotstar India
release date.
