Actress Fatima Sana Shaikh has stepped into the shoes of a
fearless warrior Zafira in Thugs of Hindostan. Going by the trailer, Zafira is
fiery and spectacular. She is a really brilliant fighter and specialises in
combat by bow and arrow. It may sound all exciting but it was challenging for
Fatima. Not action scenes, but hair was the main challenge for the actress.
“I could have never imagined that playing Zafira’s role
would be difficult because of the hair. Sitting for three hours every day in
the morning before the shoot is quite a pain. Kudos to them because they
imagined me so completely different,” Fatima revealed in a statement. Fatima’s
look as Zafira became pretty popular but it wasn’t a cakewalk for the costume
designers, Rushi and Manoshi. “Zafira was one of the most challenging
characters for us. We found fabrics that we thought best described Zafira and
then we got her to stand like a mannequin and draped and draped fabric for five
to six hours,” Rushi and Manoshi revealed.
Film Thugs of Hindostan is based on Philip Meadows Taylor's
1839 novel Confessions of a Thug. The movie is set to hit the screens on
November 8.
