Film Sachin- A Billion Dreams enjoyed a great first weekend
at the box office. The film released on May 26, 2017, in over 2400 screens in
India and 400 screens overseas.
Sachin Tendulkar's docu-drama, in fact, passed the Monday
test smoothly as it minted around INR 4.20 crore taking the total collections
to INR 32.25 crore in all languages. The movie released in four languages
namely Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and English.
As per a leading trade site, "The four-day total of the
movie is over INR 26.50 crore nett and the week will be going to INR 36 crore
nett which is very good."
The movie runs between the present day and his old memories
with its strength being Sachin's voice. It has so many levels strikes an
emotional chord with the fans. From Virat Kohli to Yuvraj Singh, everybody
shared their feelings and how lucky they were to have him around.
Speaking about his biopic, Sachin has previously told,
"This film is about that. It is about chasing my dreams. My dream was not
only my dream, it was a dream shared by a billion plus people. I was just 10
years old when India won the World Cup in 1983… And that’s when began my
journey. I too wanted to hold the World Cup."
