TV actress Mouni Roy is one of the hottest actors in Indian
television presently and slayed it in the second season of Naagin. The third
installment of the Naagin franchise will roll by year-end.
Things are looking bright for the actress as she seemingly
will have a key role in Akshay Kumar's Gold. The film is based on athlete
Balbir Singh, who won the first ever gold medal at the Olympics post the
Independence era.
"Mouni will be seen in a completely different avatar to
suit the era. She will film for 20-25 days in August and is one of the few
female characters in the otherwise male-dominated narrative," a source
close to the development informed a famous daily.
"She will be shooting extensively with Akshay," further
added the source.
Lately, Mouni had a small cameo in Tum Bin 2 which was
directed by Anubhav Sinha.
Directed by Reema Kagti and produced by Excel Entertainment,
Gold is scheduled to release on August 2018.
Reema has been working on the script of the movie for the
last two years. The idea for the story came about when her lyricist-writer
friend told her about the memorable Indian hockey match from 1948.
"It is scripted by Rajesh Devraj and is a fictional
take on the momentous game. Hockey will feature prominently in the plot but it
is a strong human drama. Gold follows 12 crucial years in India's history as
well," the source told.
