The start of 2017 saw the grand Hollywood debut of Deepika
Padukone in xXx: Return of Xander Cage. Directed by D. J. Caruso, the film also
starred Vin Diesel, Nina Dobrev, Ruby Rose and Samuel L. Jackson among others.
Deepika's badass role as Serena Unger was adored and appreciated by all and she
made her mark on the Hollywood scene.
Things are looking really good for the actress as she is now
nominated for a Teen Choice Award. The list which came out today sees Deepika
nominated for Choice Action Movie Actress. She will be up against her xXx
co-stars Nina and Ruby. Other nominees include Gal Gadot for Wonder Woman, Kaya
Scodelario for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Michelle
Rodriguez for Fate of the Furious.
Vin too has been nominated for Choice Action Movie Actor. He
will be up against his Fate of the Furious co-star Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson
who is nominated for FOTF, Brenton Thwaites for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead
Men Tell No Tales. Chris Pine for Wonder Woman, Hugh Jackman for Logan and
Johnny Depp for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
xXx: Return of Xander Cage is also nominated for Choice
Action Movie along with Logan, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No
Tales, Fate of the Furious, Transformers: The Last Knight and Wonder Woman.
In other good news, when D.J. Caruso was asked last week if
Deepika would be a part of xXx 4 as Serena, D.J. replied with an "Oh
yes," and disclosed, "Yes meetings next week. Honing in on story and start dates".
