First-rate fashion designer Manish Malhotra is ready to
enter the 50s club tomorrow. His best friend and filmmaker Karan Johar
will be hosting a big party for the designer in the city to be
held tomorrow.
When Manish was questioned about turning 50, he specified,
"Being 50 isn't the best feeling but thank God I don't look my age. I am
overwhelmed. Honestly, I don't feel 50 either." He is back in the town
after travelling to Maldives, Dubai and Abu Dhabi for work commitments and
spending time with his friends.
For the big party, Karan has roped in chefs from Lucknow and
Goa to prepare relishing dishes from the Indian, Thai and continental fare. As
Manish loves Awadhi cuisine, KJo has prearranged khansamahs to cook Awadhi Biryani,
Shahi Korma, Galauti Kebab and Shahi Murg. Now coming to the desserts, Manish's
weakness - chocolate truffles have been shipped from Italy.
Speaking about Karan's efforts, Manish further added,
"People talk highly about awards, but friends like Karan really make every
day worthwhile. It will be a celebration with music, food and friends in
attendance."
The guest list has been made by Manish himself and his
friend disclosed, "Anyone who has ever worked with Manish, including Shah
Rukh and Gauri Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, will be there.
Urmila Matondkar is expected to come with husband Mohsin Akhtar Mir. Karisma
(Kapoor), Kareena (Kapoor Khan), Saif (Ali Khan), Malaika and Amrita (Arora
Ladak) will also be there."
As per hearsays, the staff at the venue will be sporting a
special uniform with gold embroidery designed by Manish himself. When Manish's
nephew and filmmaker Punit Malhotra was asked about any special performances to
look forward to, he told, "There is no special performance, but we are a
big Punjabi family. We can expect impromptu gigs."
