Superstar Aamir Khan was in the capital city recently where
he talked about his career and how he chooses his movies. He described this
with the help of his movie Talaash and why he went for it even when
he knew that it would not be a 100 crore film.
He told, "Being a creative person, I never wish to do a
film because of monetary issues. I will never think that, 'I don't want to do
this film as it will not make 300 crores.' I never have monetary expectations.
More than expectations, I have hopes. Hopes that audience will love my
films. I want to do films that my heart says yes to. However, I plan the
budget so that costs are a minimum with such films. When we did Talaash, I
told the producers that the film won't make more than 70 crores. So we planned
accordingly. However, it made 95 crores."
He further added, "The movie was about coming to terms
with loss, which is a rare topic. Each one of us whether we like it or not,
will lose someone close to us. That is the ultimate reality. But we cannot deal
with it. It is not only death, sometimes relationships too break off and you
lose the people close to you. That sorrow is Talaash. I found that
beautiful and that is why I did it."
The actor further stated that he only 'hopes' the audience
love Dangal. "I hope the people love Dangal and the script
that Nitesh Tiwari has written and directed. I hope the joy we had in making it
and being a part of it is the same joy people watch it with. That’s what I
truly hope." he added.
