Whereas Sanam Re failed at the box office, but the
music as composed by Mithoon and Amaal Malik was a big hit. But,
after working together things turned sour for the music masterminds when Amaal blamed
Mithoon of lifting notes from his song.
Mithoon who lately opened up about the claims told, “I also
caught up on some news about a few notes of a bar from my song sounding similar
to another. This is my tenth year in the industry and my body of work bears witness
to my credibility and originality.”
“Composing music is a very sacred space for me and I believe
that if I do music without integrity, it will be just adding to the noise. If
anyone feels there is more to this, they should explore the legal route,” he
added.
Remarkably, Amaal accused Mithoon of ripping off
notes from his 'Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon' for his new single 'Ab Alvida.'
Amaal previously proclaimed, “I came across Mithoon’s
song while I was watching a video by my mentors Salim-Suleiman. One of my friends
pointed out that a minute and 30 seconds into the song, it has a striking similarity
to mine.”
